Special teams? Defense? We only allowed 20 points lol. To a team capable of putting up 30 a game. Buehler did great on kickoffs. I only remember worrying about Sproles about twice yesterday. Folk missed a field goal and the offense left 7 points on that board. Its that simple. Its no group effort. The guys played hard and the Chargers played better.

Our defense never holds up when it has to. They rarely make plays when they have to. If it's a close game in the 4th quarter, they will allow two touchdowns and leave our offense with no shot.

This defense hasn't stepped up in years.

Any fair evaluation of Tony Romo yesterday really shouldn't take into account any of his stats after the first quarter. Those numbers, stretched across a whole game, just aren't going to cut it.

If the defense, special teams and the running game show up, .. it absolutely will "cut it".

Just ask Ben Rothleisberger, he lives on games like this. He built a reputation on games like this, .. he won a Super Bowl on a game worse than this.

Romo is not the problem, .. keep looking.

So true. I've been saying this for a while now. People just don't get it.

Good post.

Romo isn't the problem. If anything, the problem is with Techmo.

Which is 7.76 YPA. So... yeah, that's about a top 10 QB type performance, and is better than Favre's season average, and below Romo's season average.

The problem is that the other QB had a better YPA.

Rivers: 8.5 YPA.
In spite of the Cowboys' failure, you have to admire some of Rivers' throws. Several times he threw deep balls right on the $$$.

It would be nice to see the Cowboys at least try one now and then.

Do you ever say anything even close to intelligent? If you do, it's a rare occasion and I haven't seen it yet.

He was getting no pass protection yesterday and we were running the ball like crazy. If we had thrown it on the one yard line rather than letting Barber fail three times, he'd have had 3 TDs yesterday. Hard to complain about that. But leave it to someone like you.
so we were running the ball like crazy, were getting no pass protection but we should have thrown it at the one yard line?

I think it is ridiculous to take away plays that actually happened to prove a point. Just a little sarcasm.

I guess I'm not very good at sarcasm.

Oh, IDK, I thought it was pretty clear.

Your problem is the OP was so insipid, it accidentally danced that line of being sarcastic with itself, and your comment got lumped in with it instead of being appreciated for the snarky bon mot it was.

Na I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying wracking up stats in garbage time is meaningless. Last week against the Giants they didn't even play defense because they did care if we scored. This week against the Chargers after they went up ten i turned the game off it was over. Those teams that made those comebacks are a lot different from this team.

He should of did this he could of did that. No matter what it didn't happen and we lost. So take all your should ofs could ofs woulds ofs and step. Because at the end of the day Romo had a terrible game.

You're very far from intelligent. Terrible game? He can't make the play calls. No doubt we score a TD on the 1 yard line provided Garrett doesn't do stupid **** like always.

And if you think those WRs got open yesterday, you're beyond delusional. We have 1 good WR, the other two get little to no seperation.

Our defense getting soft in the last quarter like they do every single week/year is the reason we lost.

The special teams missed a FG after a turnover.

The running game could not move the ball 1 yd in three tries.

The defense could not stop the Chargers at the end when we needed the ball back in an attempt to tie the game. Instead they let them run the clock down and kick a FG to put us down 10.

Romo is not perfect, but my point was the other areas have to show up too.

Yes. After you fail twice, the third time shouldn't be the same call. A simple roll-out works more often than not. Many teams pass on the 1-yard line. Our play calls down there were horrendous.

Yawn tired of the excuses. Romo didn't complete a pass for like almost 2 quarters. I'm sorry but that's pretty damn bad. So yes Romo had a terrible game. I really don't care about inflated stats when a team isn't playing defense anymore.

Fact is there were 20 points on that scoreboard last night. I don't care what the yards look like. I care about the points. Just like I don't care about how many yards the Cowboys put up. Yea they put up some of the highest yards in the league but it doesn't translate into points. Not like it should anyway. Guys get beat deep. I'm sorry. I'm sorry defenses don't shut down to your liking but Rivers isn't a bum. The defense came up with a INT from him and he hasn't had one in what? A month or two?

doesn't mean we score, could have been a pick six the other way, a sack and a fumble, anything. Just saying no doubt we score and Romo then has three TDs is BS.

The defense allowed ten points in the 4th quarter of a close game. When we can't punch it in from the 1-yard line and our kicker misses yet another field goal, I find it hard to put any of that on Romo.

Let Romo throw the ball on the 1-yard line at least once, and we score. He can't force Barber into the endzone.

Tony had us in position to score 10 more points than we did. Fact. When your RB fails over and over and over and your kicker is garbage, it's tough to win.

Are we really trying to blame romo for this loss?

Yep. Forget the fact that we were in position to score ten more points and win the game thanks in part to Tony and the rest of the team blew it. This one is on Romo. Again.
