Why do you think they should it down. I was told because the moderators couldn’t keep up with us
Not at all. They never told us why. Told us one morn it was to be shut down soon, when I clicked on that afternoon it was gone. Very chickenpoop.

I started here in 2016 as well, but thinking back, I may have just started an account, then didn't use it much until the mass exodus...maybe a year and a half later?
I did try it here while still a member at DC.com but I couldn't get many to play with me here like I could at the old site.

I do not know when I first started to come to the old site or why I even went there in the first place. I do remember being warned about staying on topic within my first five minutes by someone and I recall thinking 'topic, what the hell is the topic? What the hell is a topic"?

I struck gold because some members started immediately interacting and I was typing and laughing, best experience I'd had on the internet, including porn. I was officially hooked.

I get down on social media but that's what this is, it's just not Facebook because they're not going to allow that to happen here and that happens to every one of them if someone doesn't prevent it. As crazy as we get with each other about a football team, can you imagine this site with politics and religion mixed into it?

We have gotten a little too close to that in the Covid Zone because passions run high and I have even found myself across from some long time members I consider friends and I didn't like that feeling.

I am here for the fun and the laughs but I also like the human aspect of this when members share part of their lives, the bad and the good. Makes me feel good to be a part of a forum where members feel comfortable doing that and building stronger connections.

That said, there are just topics we should not get into here. My wife's family is in disarray over politics over the last 5 years and the pandemic served to exacerbate that and it is very sad to see it and that is one thing I am glad she is not here to witness as it would break her heart. I made a pact with all of my friends when this started going sideways, no politics or we'll be just like everyone else.

Dang, just noticed that Rockport has 2 accounts.
Not fair, Rocky would not be that bad to a member that's posted a little over 2K times in 13 years. If that's the kind of treatment he's received in the past, no wonder he doesn't post much.

I can't even use some of the words you just used, lest my post be up for review, before either being allowed or disallowed. Overall, a good policy, but sometimes I just don't understand what I even said that got my post deleted. The only time I really care is when it ruins what I think is a really funny comment.

Sometimes it is not necessarily your post but one that you responded to that is getting deleted because all of the reposts need to go as well.

I know that's usually the case, but there are times when my post sets off some type of alarm. I think maybe I just have a different idea of what's considered "political".

My previous post is awaiting moderator approval.
Yep, you used the "P" word.

Runny, I've had posts deleted, detained and received warnings for political reasons and I actually inquired of a Moderator about what constitutes "political" and the answer wasn't as clear as I wanted but after seeing how fast this can denigrate into a verbal slugfest, I get that a little more than I did before.

We've already got enough that bothers a lot of members because they do not come here for the childish and petty word fights that if the political gets started, we will lose members and get a lot less time spent here by many and this site is actually going the opposite direction of most of them with a growing and participating membership.

And that only happens with a true mutual respect for one another here. That's why I dig the glimpses posters give of what's behind the avatar because then it becomes more about the poster and less about their posts.

And you know if it was me deleting your posts, I kept the funny comments part of it.

I think it was the combination of the league wanting continuity on the web sites and Goodell got tired of reading about himself on the DC.com site. He would love it here.

But I agree, that poor administrator, that I tried to help so much , decided combat pay for that job wasn't enough. It was like the movie "Bad Teacher" in reverse.

I still like trashing Booger here but on his own site that he was paying for? Priceless.

I don't want to talk the "p" word at all. It's just a pain when you try to tell someone that you don't want to talk "p" word, your post gets deleted because you used the "p" word.
There are similar things, but after typing a paragraph just now about one such thing, I began to get angry, so I deleted the paragraph.
