143.4 QB Rating...

Now thats a GREAT change of pace. Outstanding!!

I hope he starts get more credit for playing well overall rather than the sacks that he and every other Qb gets. Granted that he takes more than some others. He can at least hold on to the football most of the time when he goes down.

I agree many of the guys who have complained about Bledsoe from day 1 still do not want to give the man credit for a great outing. Yes he took some sacks but he did not throw stupid passes under pressure that could lead to ints.

That cuts it to the quick. Its only really a problem if he makes a poor decisions with the ball. If Bledsoe takes two extra sacks for holding onto the ball, but makes one huge game breaking play ... I'll take that swap any day. Its funny, Bledsoe is being critiqued for the same thing that Aikman was praised for.

today was the first time in almost 10 years that I knew we would go down the field and score a TD without a doubt. Bledsoe made some great throws and decisions.

How bout the red zone, when was the last time we got inside teh 20 and thought we are gonna come away with 7 every time.

Or when we needed to march the field for a TD, doing it. no feild goals and 28 points, I know it and 50 but it aint 12 either.

Offense looked solid. very solid.

Ben Rothlisberger was 158.33 today.

On 11 passes. Bledsoe also had a perfect rating after 11 passes.

In conclusion, Bledsoe's performance was far more impresssive.

:D

No one even mentioned how mobile D-Bled was.

Don't get me wrong... he was no Culpepper... but he averted a number of sacks by stepping up in the pocket a couple times and when he rushed, he put on the jets!

He was a little less statuesque than expected.

No doubt he had a great game. I know SD has all their starters back what was their pass defense ranked last year?

Their pass defense sucked. as i remember they were 3rd last in pass defense, but i maybe wrong.

3rd in run defense... not pass defense.

The key difference between Dallas and Buffalo is that Bledsoe actually now has a pocket to step into. In Buffalo, the pocket would collapse almost immediately on most plays. The difference between pro-bowlers and 2nd stringers in your o-line.

Bledsoe looked good, he has some good WRs too and a Running game but what impressed me most of all was him congradulating Larry Allen, Flo and the entire Offesnsive Line after scoring.

Having some real comradery between the QB and the Offensive Line, will add even more cohesiveness.

Bledsoe looked good. He threw a couple of his gunslinger throws trying to force a 2 long balls into Glenn when he was double and triple covered but he got away with it.

I will admit to having no faith in Bledsoe and thinking he was done prior to yesterday. Glad to to say I was wrong.

After 1 game a passer rating this high doesn't impress me all that much. If he is anywhere close to 100 by the end of the season well, then you can color me in a Bledsoe jersey.

He asked when a QB had a rating this highafter 1 game. Yesterday.

Fair enough but for some of us who have been supporting Bledsoe this feels damn good. Many of us have had the pleasure of seeing some around here rip Bledsoe since the day he got signed with no wait and see additude. Now that the reg season has started and Drew came out of the gates looking sharpe he deserves all the credit he is getting. I'm sure had he laid a goose egg yesterday there would not have been a wait and see by the nay sayers they would be jumping all over the place about how poor Bledsoe is. So for today the nay sayers can eat crow and we will just see what happens down the line

Just as I've thought the stats didn't do some of our past QBs justice, I thought that yesterday, maybe the stats were a little better than Bledsoe's actual performance. What can I say, I'm a Cowboys fan, I'll rip those QBs until they win a Super Bowl! Gotta give Bledsoe credit though for not making many big mistakes and scoring on that last drive. I have this nagging feeling that teams are going to start keying on Bledsoe's weaknesses and he may have a strong start and weak finish like his first year in Buffalo, but I'm gonna remain optimistic and hope this is the best offense since the days of the Triplets!

I support Bledsoe. I have said many times I like him. I am a pedigree guy and he has one. Is he my favorite choice? No, and I have not hidden from that. Doesn't mean I dislike him.

I just want to see players get credit when they go out and perform and Bledsoe did just that. I have no doubt he will have some bad games within a 16 week schedule most QB's are going have a stinker or 2 down the road and I'm sure some will blast him big time but today Drew can feel good about what he was able to accomplish and I just hope the majority of the fans around here can be appreciative the job he did.

Disagree. To put up a 145 QB rating suggest the OL gave their QB all day to sit back in the pocket and dissect the defense. That was not the case for Drew. This wasn't Aikman sitting back behind Tui, Nate, Step and Big E with 7 seconds to decide where he was going to go with the ball. Bledsoe had people people busting free all on a regular basis and had defenders draped all over him on most plays and still completed big passes. Lousaka Polite almost single handedly ended his career twice.

As far as holding the ball too long, it would help if Dallas could pick up the blitz. There were some plays where our offense let Charger defenders get through untouched, sort of like last year. You can't fault the QB when that happens.

Trust me, I'll give Bledsoe his props. I'm one of the fans who defended him in the offseason and thought Parcells could maybe perform some end-of-career magic on him. All ya gotta do is cross your fingers and say "There's no place like Jim Plunkett, There's no place like Jim Plunkett.." ;) But that still didn't feel like a 145 QB rating day if ya get my drift. I think we'll all be tough on him until he proves this kind of stuff week after week and doesn't revert back to the way he played his last year in Buffalo. He still looked tentative at times and held on tot hat ball too long, but you're right, he had to deal with some crazy mistakes from fellas like Polite. I tell ya what, Parcells is going to look like a genius again after the Testaverde debacle, if Bledsoe puts up Pro Bowl numbers this year.

I'm not sure how to accomplish this Dooms. Does everyone need to change their sig lines to indicate what stance they are taking for a given week? If I am not openly bashing the guy I don't want to be lumped in with those who are. Not that I see anyone doing this. Maybe I'm just blind to it, but I don't see him being bashed or excuses being made.
