I'm not sure how to accomplish this Dooms. Does everyone need to change their sig lines to indicate what stance they are taking for a given week? If I am not openly bashing the guy I don't want to be lumped in with those who are. Not that I see anyone doing this. Maybe I'm just blind to it, but I don't see him being bashed or excuses being made.

Sorry I have seen several members on this board come down on Bledsoe since the day he signed and constantly taking jabs at him. Sorry that I lumped you into that crowd

After 1 game a passer rating this high doesn't impress me all that much. If he is anywhere close to 100 by the end of the season well, then you can color me in a Bledsoe jersey.

He asked when a QB had a rating this highafter 1 game. Yesterday.

My bad. I thought it was clear he meant the last time a Dallas QB had a passer rating that high. I was assuming you were mentioning Ben as if to say "it's no big deal."

Anyway, I agree. There's a lot of football left to be played.

Personally, I agree with some that said he held the ball too long. He did. I also agree with some who say this was the best QBing we've seen here since Aikman.

One game does not make a season, this is very true. However, in the past, I've watched one game of QBing and felt as if our season was over. Just the honest truth here. Yesterday, I didn't feel like that. I thought Bledsoe did a real nice job of making plays.

I also felt as if Key showed up big time for us. Nice to get a win against SD in there home stadium.

Not sure, but I think he meant a Dallas QB, which is why he mentioned the Thanksgiving day game.

Nothing wrong with that Dooms. I am often very critical of QBs and he will be no exception. I am also very complimentary when they play well. No matter who they are.

I am also very realistic. No NFL QB is going to have a season long rating this high. Anything over 90 is a great season and I'll praise the man. If he stays over 100 I'll buy a jersey.

Throughout the season I will be critical but I think it will be fair and balanced. Never too Chicken Little and never too rose colored sunglasses.

I would consider that a fair approach. Myself I don't expect Drew to carry this team I expect him to play with in the system and I felt he did just that yesterday. He made the plays he needed to make but did not try to force plays that were not there.

I'd agree with that word for word. Very happy with the way he played. He was better than I had a right to ask for. When a player gives you that kind of effort it is a great thing.

I was on board with the signing of Bledsoe, he is and always has been a Very good QB. We did not have anyone else on the roster who could come even close to what He did in the game. I certainly did not want Vinny back, even though I was on board with the signing of Vinny, for the backup services and a little bit of mentorship (meaning that he could've helped the young guys to understand BP) other than that, I have always thought of Vinny as a Wade Wilson type QB, more Ints than TDs, and always losing, but they make good backups, only for short periods.

I was not bothered by The holding of the ball too long, it reminded me of when Aikman played, he held on to the ball waiting and waiting for a WR, and he took many sacks for it, that to me is a what pocket passers do.

Marino had such a quick release, or was it his OL's play? Or both? I say Both, but I'm sure some say different.

It was both. No doubt in my mind.

Passer rating is a bunch of hogwash.

It is not a Quarterback rating as Parcell clearly stated in one of his training camp press conference

Like mentioned earlier my Imanroshi, what is impressive about this game in Drew's ability to stand tall and strong in the pocket with all hell breaking down around him.

We now know why Vilma stated that Bledsoe is the hardest QB to bring down. Guys were hanging onto Drew, trying to swipe the ball and he stood in there took the sacks and also made the defense pay when WRs came open.

Bledsoe also showed us he wasn't as immoblie as most (as Bledsoe also mentioned early in camp) thought when he took off and gained positive yards when their was noone open early in the game. Diving head first into those small DBs that bounced off his 6'-5" 203lb frame.

I think he's going to carve the Commanders a new *** on Monday night and I'll be there to get a huge chunk of that pork fat. :D

No doubt in my mind either. His release was so quick, I believe as soon as his Wr got maybe even a half of step, or a little space he let fly and got that ball in there.

I could be wrong, but that is waht it looked like to me.

Completely agree. His OL was very good. Especially at LT with Richmond Webb. Take nothinG away from Marino, the man was quite simply a great QB.

Their pass defense sucked. as i remember they were 3rd last in pass defense, but i maybe wrong.

The Chargers were actually 2nd to last in pass defense last year. They were 3rd in run defense, but that may be due to the fact that teams passed on them a lot, as they were also faced the fewest rushing attempts in the league.

Of course that was last year, so who knows.

There once was a man from Olean
Who towards Bledsoe is particularly mean
But when credit is due
And the "statue" came through
That naysayer's nowhere to be seen

(there's always next week in the hope for a meltdown)

i was totally on board with Bledsoe, and for those of us it was with much satisfaction that we saw him perform so well. i'd like to add that i noticed what it is about him: watching other QBs from Sunday's games, they make nice throws while under pressure, because for the WRs to get down field they waited as long as possible and were fractions of a second from getting hit in many cases. Bledsoe was able to deliver a lot of nice throws because he has the courage to stand in for that extra half-second. it leads to sacks when the OL can't give it to him, but players with athletic ability would have already been moving out of the collapsing pocket, then look for another target. pocket passers have the intestinal fortitude to hang in a bit longer, and the arm and accuracy to deliver the ball.
Bledsoe i still maintain will have a very very good year indeed. and think next week we'll probably see PP catch a few. nice...

man, I dont think the cowboy nation will ever be sold on a single QB again. I dunno what the problem is, I just root for the guys in there. Who ever is starting for the boys is the best QB on the team and thats fine with me. (I am glad its not Hutch though, he really sucks@).
