Any given Sunday, as they say. That was one of my former CZ handles during my perpetually banned days.

But it's true.

You guys can sit here and whine and moan all day about a loss. It's the 49ers. We're no good. They're the best, and we're the worst. Dak this, Jerry that..

Waah!

I'm still enjoying this season. I may criticize a few things here and there. I may call the FO, staff, or players out. But I refuse to sit here in an echo chamber and let all the crying kill my vibe.

We're not getting a new QB this year. We're not going to fire McCarthy mid-season. Jerry isn't going anywhere.

Why do teams practice? Why do teams watch film? Why do teams re-evaluate after the season and before the draft?

I see a lot of tears after a loss everyone knew might come. We're good. But the 9ers are good and they have great chemistry. Still, they stomped us once; doesn't mean they stomp us every time. Even if they do, why waste your time posting if all you're going to do is post the same one or two lines about Dak or Jerral Wayne all day?

I see some of you actually enjoy airing your grievances. Mostly, about the owner or #4. I challenge you to provide a thoughtful analysis or even better realistic workable solutions that can actually help solve the problem rather repeating the same futile one-liners.

17 games. We still have 12 more to go.

Then, the playoffs.

And look at it this way. If we don't make the playoffs with this team, it'll give us reasons to make changes for next year.

Before you even [predictably] say it, yes, Jerry will be here next year. And probably Dak. But if we all know that, why bang your silly heads against the wall crying about it? It's a game. The team you like lost. You still have other things in life to be happy about, hopefully. I like winning as much as the next person. But I'm not going to let a game that I have no control over ruin my day, or level of enjoyment this season.

A lot of our fans have become as predictable as Mike McCarthy's offense. We get it. You're not happy about the loss.

The only solution for the team is to hopefully win more of the next 12 games. Any Given Sunday.

You guys have seen that movie, right?
After 27 years that's the wrong tune my friend. There's always another game, another post season, another season. But this team was supposed to win it all yesterday. And here we are with the same old same old. Why would I care about the rest of the regular season, when this game made it obvious that our post season will end the same way as the two previous ones? Any given Sunday? I guess that's why we won against Tampa last January. It was a fluke.

It's about how we lost, not about the loss itself. This team wasn't even in the same room as the 49ers. It really doesn't matter if we make the playoffs with another 12-5 season, as long as we look like a high school team against any contender.

its not just a loss. its how we lost. SF showed everyone how to beat us. take out parsons and they did that with all kinds of different blocking stunts. and rest of defense couldn't do anything. they were physical upfront with our OL and found the weak spot and over loaded and stopped us. and we showed no heart. there was nothing in our eyes. no fight. we got punched and we said, let me lay down so you don't punch me any more.

this was the team seemingly quitting on themselves and on the coaches. this game exposed MM and his lack of offensive creativity and Quinn having built a fluff.

Ok I would too. But there is no logic that they can be "the guy" but Dak can't.
There is no guarantee they could be the guy.

But the odds they could be are much higher than Dak.

That's just reality.

Granted if you paired those two with McCarthy, those odds would go down. McCarthy sucks.

Well, if it was just one game I wouldn't worry about it. But two of the last 3 games they looked awful on both sides of the ball. The Cowboys have given up 83 points in 5 games , 70 of those points came in two games against two west coast teams on grass fields.

The Cowboys are now 3-10 against West coast teams since 2018. They play two more west coast teams over the next two weeks!

The 49ers, which was supposed to be a test game, gave Dallas the worst beating they have suffered this year and the worst beating SF gave any team, including the Cardinals and Giants. If Dallas thought this was a test game and performed like that then we have a real problem.

How many games do we go before we decide the McCarthy play calling experiment is a failure?

And while we are at it, it looks like some teams have figured out how to exploit the Cowboys defense, especially without Diggs to take out the best receiver on the offense.

It's not so much the Cowboys lost. I expected that. It's the way they lost that is very disturbing. On full display on national tv no less.
Feel like we, well some of us, said same thing after AZ but we were told to go watch the Eagles. It was just one bad game...

This game is different because the team has now lost to the 49ers in the last three games with Prescott falling flat on his face each time thus giving no reason whatsoever that he will play any better should he again be the QB unless the 49ers have injuries to their QB and several blue chip players.

Pass2run, I like your post generally.
Let me clarify something.
This is not a one game concern.
Really, the Cardinals exposed us and the 49ers just humiliated us.
This team has been soft for years and I think some fans have just reached the boiling point.
I will continue to cheer for the Cowboys and hope they win, but I will never expect a deep playoff run with Jerry in charge of the team.

The sky is falling because we all bought into the hype that we were a contender for the SB. Yesterday we all saw that there is not a single aspect of our team that is better than the 49’ers.
  • OL - SF and Philly both better
  • DL - SF and Philly both better and able to limit a team’s ground game
  • LBs - This is a sad situation, and if LVE is injured, we may be playing with nothing but safeties due to poor roster creation.
  • RB/Run game - SF and Philly are both better
  • TEs - ours are young and improving, but SF and Philly have game changers
  • WRs - it’s closer, but Philly’s are better, and SF’s more consistent and physical
  • QB - I love Dak, but whether it’s coaching, scheme, the supporting cast, or the individual doesn’t really matter - SF and Philly are producing more
  • CBs - Philly is better and last night SF definitely covered better and seemed to be everywhere.
  • S - On paper, we sound better and deeper, but last night ours dropped coverages, missed tackles, committed penalties, while SF’s were dropping our receivers after completions for little to no YAK, and yet they were also racing over and making plays on the deep balls.
  • Coaching - SF is clearly better than most in the NFL. Philly, I don’t know, but they certainly have a plan for playing to their strengths, both lines and the run games to set up easy throws and catches With lots of YAK
The new offense was supposed to be all about the YAK, I thought. Our guys are not running free as I thought the scheme suggested. They are catching balls with defenders on them. SF had huge YAK yards and appeared to have nothing but open spaces other than the short slants for first downs.

We can argue all we want about our QB, but we had the same issues with Romo. Last night confirmed what we’ve seen off and on for decades. This team is soft and doesn’t have the depth on defense or the OL to switch to a physical approach when needed.

Go Cowboys! I’m still a fan and will be watching every week with hope. I’ll enjoy the victories and lament the losses, but last night confirmed for me that we can possibly be a contender in the NFC (meaning we are capable of playing a near perfect game and winning against anyone), but we are definitely not a favorite. Philly, SF, and maybe Detroit are the only possible favorites. The rest with winning records are merely competitors who may or may not contend on any game day. The rest are just pretenders who will in the next month start looking at the draft.

It’s because after those 17 games. If they meet SF or any good team in the playoffs really, it’s a wrap.

Only way we beating SF and prob eagles for that matter is if major injuries happen. Sad

The QB isn't getting better.

The OC isn't getting better.

That's the problem.
Well is the defense getting better? Are the tight ends? The running backs? The receivers.. None of them stepped up except for a couple of flashes all game. One or two splashes aint gittin it done against a good team. The most concerning aspect of that game was not the offense. I didn't expect the offense to light that defense up. 20-24 points was about all I was hoping for. It was the fact that the defense put up very little resistance to THEIR offense that bothered me. Shanahan schemed up Quinn like nobody's business. It was embarrassing how many times they had guys wide open against us. Our guys were not assignment sound and did not "do your job" which we all knew they needed to do.

1 into the season and we were super bowl champs. It’s a bipolar team that won’t win anything big. Beat up on bad teams lose to good ones. Daks portfolio
