So I met someone last Friday while out at a techno event...we shared a vibe and exchanged contact information, and that was it.
Since then, we've been talking and I get the feeling we have alot in common aside from being single and liking similar music.
We live about 45 minutes to an hour from each other. I'm typically only downtown once a month or so, usually for something music or sports related.
There is an event I was planning to go to on the 29th with similar music as where we first met, but also feel like I should find a place to be able to talk to her face to face with less noise beforehand. I asked her what her schedule looked like on the 29th, and she hinted she didn't have anything planned yet, so I take that as a good sign
Its been awhile since I've put myself out there or even gone on anything resembling a date...I'm thinking probably best to keep it something chill and simple like grabbing a beer or coffee. Should I mention the event I was planning to go to anyways that evening?
Is this one married, too?
It's probably same woman.

It would be wise if you skipped the drinks. Having a face like Rowdy is bad enough. Looking like a sloppy drunk Rowdy is just begging for a police sobriety checkpoint stop. It doesn't matter if she's the designated driver. Just take a glance in the mirror. They will drag you from the passenger seat and start beating you like they did that San Bernardino, California horse thief a month ago. That's not how a date night should end.We are going out for dinner and drinks on the 29th. Figured that would be better than a music event because there its hard to tell if the chemistry extends beyond the music or not.
I was raised that the person doing the asking pays, right? Its been a while since I've actually gone about the whole dating thing again.
I'm glad we met in person spontaneously and by total random chance....rather than online (no offense to others that have).

I would take her to a bar.
Get extremely drunk. There's only one thing a girl finds more attractive than that, and that is the next step.
Pick a fight with somebody to show her how manly you are. You'll want to pick somebody smaller than you though, so you're guaranteed to win.
After this continue drinking so you can show her that getting in a fight is just another day in the life of Stryker, and it doesn't phase you. At this moment you'll want to reveal something extremely personal about yourself. Something the average person wouldn't share when getting to know someone. Don't be afraid to cry while doing it. This will show her that not only are you manly, but you're willing to be vulnerable as well. Women love a man that cries.
There's nothing people love more than hearing others talking about themselves. Make sure to talk about yourself and only yourself. DON'T EVEN BOTHER ASKING ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT HER. It's all about you and how awesome you are, and how lucky she would be to have you. Don't be afraid to point this out to her even. In fact I would encourage it.
By this point she'll more than likely want to go back to her place. I'm sure you can figure out the rest.
