I woke up after a great night of watching the Commanders looking pretty bad in almost every facet of the game. Then, even better was watching the Fisher firing countdown begin. (I have it at week 6)

But then I start reading all the posts in fan zone. You'd think the Cowboys got rolled by 40 points. Every single post, fire Marinelli, cut Williams, negative negative.

They came within 5 yards or so of beating a good team with a SB quarterback, All Pro Wr with a two rookies starting in their first game. Cut them a little slack.

How about Claiborne looking a lot better than he has in years. Prescott was poised and accurate in his first start. He didn'the make any real mistakes. That in itself is incredible if you think about it. At least three straight games they've kept ODB out of the end zone. He had 74 total yards and one catch was like 70 of it. Safety play was a lot better, especially with Byron in center field. The few times Eli wanted to throw deep he couldn't because of either the rush or Byron'so range. Did anyone even notice that? And the only time you heard Wilcox's name was when he made a positive play. That alone makes me smile.

I think they need to add another category like the "Ilovetohateonmyteamzone" or something like that.

Oh, and see how many points the Giants hang on NO this week and then reassess your thoughts about the Cowboys D.

We don't know how good the Giants are they've had OL problems and we had trouble pressuring Eli. As for Claiborne looking better than he has in years he continues playing not to get beat. They showed him give plenty of cushion to his receiver on a 3rd down play where he needed to press him and the receiver easily picked up the first down. This is why Claiborne doesn't get picks and make impact plays he fears getting beat. We saw many of the same problems on Sunday that we saw last year. Despite a couple of new backs our running game wasn't efficient and we continue to bog down in the redzone having to settle for FG's. Once again we saw our defense relinquish the lead with just over 6 minutes to play not being able to keep the Giants out of the endzone.

We forced our rookie QB to put the ball up 45 times and were stuck behind the chains most of the day. This will be the first of many losses this season if we don't get our running game going and don't start getting a pass rush and make critical stops. We started off 2-0 last season and we could very easily start off 0-2 this season which would be a death sentence being 0-2 within the division and having a rookie QB for maybe half the season or more. Dak showed some promise but he's going to have to become more efficient and throw some TD's if we're going to win games with him at QB. We have a team that depends on great QB play because our defense is a liability.

Barely losing...

The problem is we saw the Cowboys use the same formula that lead us to 1-11 last year and it's 0-1 this year.

They just refuse to change and it's disgusting for fans who have to watch their team be held hostage by Jason Garretts philosophies.

You would be best suited not to come to CBZ until at least Wednesday after a loss, Tuesday after a narrow victory. Really just call it Thursday and you will not need Prozac.
Incidentally, I too and pretty happy with the current situation. I still believe Dak is going to be very good if not great. Hard to get down on him with one game under his belt. I wishe he had a 5 TD game to start his career, but there was a ton of money on the other side of that line. They got all that money for a reason.

The game Sunday looked like an extension of last season. Same approach with different players.
The defense, I kind of give a pass to, there's just no talent on that side of the ball, and they're actually playing really well for what they have to work with. The offense on the other hand has zero excuses, the talent is in place on pretty much every level, they just don't feel the need to utilize it. I don't know if it's an HC issue or an OC issue, but it needs to get fixed.

It's always "just one game." That's why we look for trends in the aggregate. Those trends have been pretty steady over the past 15 games.

Hmmmmm, let me see here...I should somehow feel better about our team because some other team looked awful (Commanders). Somehow it doesn't work for me. The issues (and there are MANY) we have, don't go away because another team sucks. That's just oddball logic.

it may have looked like last year but it wasnt like last year. There is a massive difference between a first game rookie taking the soft yards because he is affraid of making mistakes and a couple of veterans making thise same passes because theyre unable to push the ball downfield. Is it my imagination or are the exact same people that were excited a out the promising rookie qb now whining about a gameplan that is run by every team starting a rookie qb?
