1st Round Bye

Assuming Dallas does indeed lock up a 1st round bye for the playoffs, does this make anybody nervous?

I'm feeling pretty indifferent about it. I think it's obviously more of a good thing but this team seems to love to play on a roll. IIRC didn't we look flat coming off our bye week this season?

Don't get me wrong, I want it and I'll take it,
I'm just wanting to hear opinions about it.

This team seems to come out sluggish when they rest too much.

I think there are a few players who will benefit from the bye:

Tyron and his back
Dez and his back
Mo Clairborne
Zeke - fresh legs

got a few other lineman who are dinged....

And DLaw with his back as well.

Are you basing that on one game or did you see something in college?

I think he played only one really cold game in college, and it didn't go well.

That's often a problem for southern guys.

This is an excellent point going forward.

Troy couldn't throw a wet ball, and Dak seems uncomfortable in cold weather. Not the right division to be in if that's the case.

Seems like Dak is the kind of guy who will come up here in Feb and Mar to figure out how the cold weather affects the ball and the feeling of throwing. All indications are that he's all about preparation.

I'd be happy to open up my spare bedroom and my teenagers would love to run routes and catch balls from him in the snow covered fields near my house!

We usually don't come back from off weeks looking real sharp but for the playoffs you should be excited a ready to go. A bye should be an advantage but for some teams it can disrupt their momentum. The 07 team had 13 days off prior to the playoff game with the Giants but we were in the middle of a Dec swoon and the time off made the situation worse in my opinion. The Giants who were a wildcard were playing every week and just kept getting better and better.
