I’m assuming both DLaw and Cooper are gone in this mock. I address those needs along with focus on building the trenches. We lost games because we couldn’t run the ball successfully and we got bullied on the DL at times. Wasn’t able to get to TE and S but you can’t have steak for every meal.

1) Zion Johnson OG
2) Arnold Ebiketie DE
3) Christian Watson WR
4a) Cameron Jurgens OC
4b) Otito Ogbonnia DT
5) Micah McFadden
6) Neil Farrell DT

DT has to be there in the first 2 rounds otherwise the draft is a failure in my book

i wont be surprised if they dont a Dt at all.maybe they will try to get one in FA.

I have no doubt you are correct
They’re idiots
You can’t get better long term value at DT than Jones in rd 2

The 2nd rd. Guy was injured at the senior bowl wasnt he?
This draft is going to be a wild ride. We’ll get a good one in the 1st

Something like this could easily happen. A starting OL and rotational DL.

We cut Dlaw and you got DT over DE as need? Do you care about talent of player or unjust position. Which position has more talent in it, DT or DE?

is a rd 1 OG or rd 2 DE “more talented” than a rd 1 CB or WR

let’s draft WR in rd 1 and CB in rd 2

why draft OG in 1 and DE in 2

We need a NT, that usually can be found later in the draft. McNeil whom everyone loved last yr, fell to the 3rd rd. Unless a NT has rush abilities, they will be available later on in the draft.

Think many are underrating Zion Johnson. He is a day 1, plug and play impact starter at Left Guard.

Great first two picks. Farrell is exactly what our front seven needs. In the wild card game the Niners exposed our porous run defense.

Overview
Ascending nose tackle prospect with a well-earned reputation for making it hard on blockers to do their job in the run game. Farrell has seen personal maturity and development in his play that allowed him to consistently bully opponents as a physical force in the middle. He flashes some gap disruption but will stake his claim as a block-eating, two-gapper with impressive stack-and-shed power. He will be somewhat tethered to home base but should be an immediate upgrade for a leaky run defense. Add a two down FA LB on a one year deal and let's roll.

Strengths
  • Very rugged football player in the trenches.
  • Combines strength with skill to defeat the block.
  • Surprising snap quickness for his size.
  • Comes off the ball with low pads and excellent leverage.
  • Pure power to lift, displace and toss interior blockers.
  • Plants roots and fights off down blocks and double teams.
  • Able to peekaboo for running back as two-gapper.
  • Strong hands and twitchy upper body to shed.
  • Clears interior rush edge with extremely heavy slap.

We’ve been saying exactly this for how many years now while teams draft these guys ahead of us leaving us with junk

Jones is an impact DT who will just be sitting there at our rd 2 pick but we will go CB or WR and then wonder why teams are able to run on us and why we can’t pressure the QB or collapse the pocket

building an NFL team is not difficult if we understand the rules, get a QB and then build the OL and DL esp a pocket collapsing DT

Because the draft is about the intersection of need and BPA. You are always drafting for need or anticipated future need.

We are well aware that this team needs to upgrade the DT position, mainly at the 1 or 0 Tech. This front office has never valued a 2 down player since Parcells and the traditional 3-4 Defense left with him. If Quinn communicates that he needs such a player, he will get him. Think he has earned the goodwill of the front office with last year's success. However, based on what we have seen under Quinn's first yr, think he prefers players who can be multiple, be able to play different techniques, gap schemes throughout the line. Just look at Osa/Golston who were apart of his 1st draft class with the team. Can play in multiple gap systems. When with Seattle, he never had that traditional NT, hell Grady Jarrett played a lot of 1T when he was with Atlanta.

You don’t draft for need you use the off season for that
You use the draft for long term team building

I’m not talking about what we will do I’m talking about what we should do

what I don’t want to hear from FO apologists (not you) is surprise when teams run in us and we can’t pressure the QB

It's not like they haven't tried fixing the DT position, especially with 3 down type players. The likes of Gallimore, Hill haven't lived up to their draft status as of yet, Osa probably played better then both as a rookie. They really need to have these prospects take the next step or find their replacements.

1) Kenyon Green, G
2) (Trade) Devonte Wyatt, DT
2) Chad Muma, LB
3) Josh Paschal, ED
4) Kellen Diesch, T
5) Jake Ferguson, TE
5) Hassan Haskins, HB
6) Kendrick Duncan, S

From PFF, killed this one apart from no WR imo
