That never happened. A 4th and a now deceased WR was the closest I have seen to sounding remotely accurate, courtesy of a thread from yesterday. Did you have some proof there was a first offered or just more rumors?

I'm pretty sure it was Cincy offering a 1st for Bennett. Jerry Jones said it was a 1st for a young Cowboy player. Later, it was verified that Cincy was the team.

At the time, I wouldn't have made the trade. The Cowboys needed/need Bennett. Bennett is good and was showing some nice potential at the time of the offer. And the Cowboys need someone if Witten gets hurt.

Now, if Cincy is still offering a 1st after the season during the upcoming draft, I'd be really tempted to go for it, depending on who is on the board.

I thought the same thing before Doug Free's last three or four games. He is not that suseptible to Bull Rush as I originally thought. Colinsworth comments during the game last night, solidified what JErry was saying already about Doug Free, combined with what I have seen with my own eyes.

Doug Free is future at LT, no doubt in my mind. He might not be a pro-bowl type, but I am pretty sure, he will be a pretty good to Sollid LT for Cowboys for many years, barring injuries. He handled Justin Tuck very well on Bull Rush etc.

Now, playing a Julius Peppers would be completely different, since he just abused Bryan McKennie, who thought, might be one of the best LT in game right now. But Peppers is just a physical Freak, and there is only one of them in NFL right now. Where Free would be good at is, against likes of Freeney, the speed guys. Either way, I think Lt can't be concern right now.A good prospect at RT might be the need on Tackles. And then Guards and Center.

What about that guy in Houston - Mario Williams - physically similar to Peppers, no?

Freeney is almost impossible to handle 1-on-1 due to his combination of speed, power, low center of gravity and counters. It is very rare the LT who can consistently block that guy in a passing situation.

Sam Hurd backs up Roy Williams' position, and if it were up to me, I'd be informing Roy Williams that Sam Hurd is starting in his place from now on. I would then use Crayton as the #3 WR up to the 20 yard line and only use RW11 as a third receiver in certain red-zone packages.

That sounds okay be me, of course. I would like to sprinkle in Ogletree in some of Hurd's snaps.
