2 overtime losses cost us Super Bowl

It's not just that we lost those two games, it's that we lost them after leading by multiple TDs in the second half. It is going to be a very tall order winning three playoff games in a row on the road.

This sucks. 2 games we were up by 14 and 17. Blew it. Should have won both in ot at minimum. Cost us division and Super Bowl.
Talk about putting the cart before the horse.

Let’s shoot for getting out of the divisional round.

This team, including this year, struggles after the bye week and struggled after Thanksgiving.
Being the number one seed has often meant a first round exit….let’s get on a roll.

This team has also been losing on Thanksgiving, but that didn't happen this year.

People worry too much about what previous incarnations of teams have done and how they've performed. Individual players' performances vary from game to game, so the whole team's performance is going to vary as well. Now add the fact that the team is never even the same group of players from season to season. You simply can't put the onus of past underachievers on the shoulders of the current players. There's a case to be made for the tendencies of coaches, but even they aren't all the same group (outside of a certain over-tenured redhead.

While way premature, the odds of Dallas winning two games at home as the #1 seed are significantly greater than the odds of them winning 3 in a row with some being on the road. The odds of the former are not 100% and the latter is not 0% but the OP is correct that the GB and Jacksonville losses really hurt Dallas' odds.

play-offs haven't started.
you don't get lombardi's for best regular season record.
just enjoy the win.
and all the who's down in whoville crying
BOO☆HOO.

There was a stat showing that in recent years, only 1 team with the bye has made it to the SB….most teams get cold instead of maintaining momentum.

Did it show how many of those teams were ousted in their first playoff game? It may have nothing to do with the bye week itself, but just that they're in the playoffs against the top teams in the league.

No offense, but stupid post! The Cowboys are in the playoffs, regardless of those blown OT games. Winning the division doesn’t assure a Super Bowl we’ve found that out many times over. As long as you make the playoffs, you have a shot.

If our bumbling defense can get a few stops we could still see the SB.
