2 Players From SD That Could Help Us

I still seriously doubt it. They have a month to work something out and can still franchise him. It isn't like he's on a crap team and wants to go to a winner.

I gotta imagine a franchise tag for him would be a huge figure (especially with Hutchinson's huge contract) so I doubt they would go that route.

Yes, and someone posted the new franchise numbers for next season and they're indeed huge.

He very well may get resigned but it's unlikely he'll be franchised.

Actually 21 days but who's counting? ;)

The tag would cost 8.2 mill

Like every team in the league, SD can move $$ around -- Do keep in mind that they still can negotiate with him for about a month after they tag him and not go into the season with the tag cap hit -- at least a week of that period is before the start of FA.

I'd love to see Dielman here but it is pretty clear to me that a team with the best RB in the league and a solid young QB needs to keep their best OL player

I was thinking along the same lines as most of you regarding Dielman. He could be a very good pick up.

I do wonder however, if Phillips would refrain from making a push for Chargers players out of respect for Marty. I believe Parcells and Belichick had that agreement and that kept us out of the Vinatieri sweepstakes. Also, Parcells took umbrage with Sean Payton for pushing up the price on Keith Davis.

Yeah, that's good business. Don't go after players because they're on your buddy's team. I think Parcells and Belichick are the only ones that have that stupid code and I'm not even sure about the Belichick part. I like Parcells but he's living in 1985.

Not saying I agree with it, just pointing out what was rumored after Parcells departure. Ya know?

I'm not blaming you at all. I'm blaming Parcells. If he had a chance to sign Vinatieri and didn't because Belichick asked him not to, that's a fireable offense in my opinion. Coaches are paid to win games and no one knows that better than Parcells. If Phillips can snag a few guys from San Diego that can help the Cowboys win, I'll appluade him. This whole code thing is comical. Trust me, I talk to GM's and coaches. Most of them would kill their families to win one game and Belichick is at the top of that list. He just pulled one over on his old boss because Belichick would have signed Vinatieri in a second and if Parcells got mad, he wouldn't have cared one bit. That's why I said Parcells is the only out-of-date idiot that still practices this moronic frat boy ritual.

if they franchise Dielman, they'd be paying on par w/ the top 5 OTs in the league

either Dielman and the Chargers work something out, or he's gone
