In intelligent discussions he is. If you rank in the top 6 in passer rating five years in a row, you are among the greats. These are the only players who have done it the last 50 years.

Blyleven threw one of the meanest curveballs I have ever seen.

Blyleven is still one of the top five pitchers in total strikeouts.

May I ask you a serious question? Did you ever watch Blyleven pitch?

Mayyybe Lynn Swann and mayyybe Joe Namath. But other than that, I can't agree.

Stat wise Namath had more picks than TDs however as an NFL icon he put the AFL on the map and played a large part of the popularity of the league.

Yes he was never great he was a guy who lost 250 games ... Steve Carlton lost over 200 as well but had 400 wins ...

Ron Guidry was a far superior pitcher to Blyleven and dominate ...

The HOF should be about dominate , generational athletes...

Does Aikman have a signature shoulder game like emmitt?? Nope ...

Dude, you just dissed one of the top three fastball pitchers in MLB history.

You do understand the sport of baseball (and others you are criticizing) is team-oriented, right? You seemed kinda hung up on individual stats greatly influenced by team accomplishments or shortcomings.

I can give you tons of games where Emmitt wasn't amazing where Aikman was a big part of those wins. But the biggest one is probably this one.



Heck in the playoffs it was rare for Emmitt to tear up teams. His signature game in the playoffs is Super Bowl 28 when he tore up the Bills in the 2nd half. Heck it was Aikman with the big pass to seal the 49ers game in the NFC Championship game in San Francisco. Aikman that led Dallas over San Francisco the next year. Aikman with 4 TDs in the Super Bowl 27.

Ron Guidry was a good pitcher. He also got 4.8 runs per game in support from his team during his career. Blyleven got 4.2. Nolan Ryan got 3.8. It is easier to win games when your teammates are scoring runs.
