Once a fair catch is signaled......don't you have to allow the PR a chance to catch the ball? Don't you?

yeah 10 yds is too much.
I’m more concerned about defensive holding. It’s only 5 yards, but an automatic 1st down. The defense gets the offense in a 3rd very long, say 20+, and a questionable hold occurs 15 yards short of a first down shouldn’t result in an automatic first down. Make it a 10 yard penalty, but no auto 1st down.

Another who doesn’t know the rules. All this complaining because you don’t know what happened
Do you know what hands to the face means ? Did you not see that violation of the rules ? Everything else is secondary to that infraction. Once that was allowed, all hell broke loose on that play.

Want to call guys for unnecessary roughness fine. Don't give the offenses 15 yards and an automatic 1st down. Maybe do like roughing the kicker. Have it be a 5 or 15 yarder on really blatant targeting. Already too much offense in the NFL.

Did anyone else find the penalties annoying? Good grief, just let them play!

I appreciate the refs but, when it's the focal point of the game it bums me out.

maybe it's just me?
I don't appreciate the refs at all. Look no further than the ref who Dak barely bumped because he didn't know the idiot was still standing next to him. You can clearly see the ref get mad that he was touched and went back to talk smack. They want every game to be about them, and I won't even go into the obvious selective calls all year long in almost every game you watch.
But hey, at least they aren't calling the falling-on-the-QB as much this year.

What would you like the refs to do?

Imagine you are a ref. You see a bunch of undisciplined players continue to commit penalties, do you just stop doing your job?

They miss calls that would benefit the Cowboys all the time. This one should have been hands to the face at least:

They missed calls that would have benefitted the chargers too. See that punt from our end zone? Our punt protection blocker tackled the chargers punt rusher with no flag. There were several times the refs could’ve called offsides again on our edge defenders who are lining up offsides again and again.

I hate too many flags too and prefer a less tightly called game. But blaming a lack of discipline on the refs is just an excuse. This team has had penalty problems all season.

I appreciate that point. However, when you see a positive play and you say, "Ok where is the flag?" it makes it hard to watch. Call the flagrant and let the game proceed.

What needs to happen is a more punitative system that really discourages illegal play. They should look to soccer. If a player gets a yellow card for a foul, that yellow card carries forward 1 game. If he gets another yellow in that game, he gets an automatic 1 game suspension. Guys like Derwin James who committ personal fouls every week should be getting suspended. The holding penalties should also have cumulative consequences. If a guy gets 3 holding calls in one game , he should be kicked out. There are all kinds of things the nfl can do to encourage fair play. Right now it seems like a big game of chicken with officials.

It’s actually hands to the face mask, they deemed inconsequential because of this no penalty that’s why the play was called correctly

Inconsequential? It should never be allowed. I’ve seen way more inadvertent or unintentional hands to the face be called.

I saw several punt returns where the returner did not get the space they were supposed to have. They were trying to push players into the returner. That was a total blown call IMO. Should have been hands to the face. And no way they get the fumble.

By rule it’s not called if they remove quickly you see a lot with RBs as long as there’s no twisting pulling it’s seldom called.

I agree but is that on the refs or players? And to your point there are ref crews that throw more flags. But smart coaches scout the refs and hammer into the players what to watch for. This is a discipline issue due to lack of leadership and accountability that has been gone since jimmy excluding a few years with parcels.

They
Some crews do seem more officious and pernickety than others for sure. A lot of penalties does disrupt the flow of the game, in any sport.
They called it tight but I didn’t see many phantom calls. All looked like actual penalties though they missed a huge call on the hold of Gallup at the goal one.
