Seems the answer is pretty much everyone.

Zeke being a hammer, and Rico possible getting carries. Leupke, was one answer. Also they seem to be high on Deuce. I just do not get it.
Maybe he improves in year 2.
Totally dependent on solidifying run blocking and scheme. EVERY RB needs some holes, at least on occasion. Too many times, over the last several years probably since Travis left...RB's have to doge a defender almost on the hand off. People even remarked how fast Pollard was to the edge over zeke. He shouldn't have HAD to.

Make the holes, call a good game, adjust. Look for someone to pancake down the field. Get a solid consistent run game, and let Dak burn them with good passing.

It's not gonna ALWAYS work, but that is sound football that will win more games in a real fire fight.

I kinda hoped Leupke begins to develop into that lead blocker, short yardage specialist I thought he could be. Maybe more if he can also catch. Too many better options than to try to force the ball to vaughn.

Rico. I think he can be a solid back if healthy. He has a nice combination of physicality and speed. Not elite but solid in both regards.

Hopefully they acquire someone not on the roster currently. I think Zeke can serve a role, but he is limited at this stage in his career. I'll give Deuce another year as well, but he's another guy who is limited in what he can do for you. Rico I just cant buy into the hype. He's 26, which doesnt sound old, but to compare Zeke is 28. Granted he has significantly fewer miles on his body than Zeke it's rare for a RB to break out on the back half of their 20s. Nearly every advanced metric indicates that Rico is a backup RB in this league.

The surprise of this RB group as it is today may end up being that Royce Freeman is the best (or at least most complete) back in the current group....which isnt a good thing. This is the position group that I'm really struggling to find much optimism on at all outside of Zeke should be a reliable short yardage/goal line back which was much needed in 2023.

I believe so as well that committee approach will be in full effect until someone emerges and fills a role, it's wide open.at this point.
This backfield is wide open for an opportunity, and just sometimes a wide-eyed RB and agent see a glaring opportunity for a potential trade possibility.
Now do I know who that is, I have no idea and neither does anyone else at this point but the ability to pull off a potential trade is viewed best when viewing
certain areas of this roster that can afford a potential trade.
This RB room will be different than it is currently, the question is when they do it.

I certainly think there is room for improvement from the Oline in the run game, but I also think we are too quick to label them as the problem too. Last year the Cowboys were 17th in rush yards before contact with 1,055 yards (2.3 yards per attempt). Those number in 2022 would have given them a bottom 5 run game in the league.

I don't think people want to believe it because of how bad the Cowboys were defensively against the run last season, but overall teams were significantly more successful defending the run game throughout the league. I don't have the exact numbers but if you adjust the yards before contact stat to not factor in mobile QBs they should move up these ranking for 2023 a couple more spots as well. The Cowboys Oline did a decent job last year in the run game compared to the league averages.

They never tried to force the ball to Vaughn. Most of his carries were when they were trying to run out the clock. When everyone in the world knows it's coming.

He ain't going to look great at any point in the season. Come on man, didn't you pay attention to his last year here, and his year in NE? How can you delude yourself like that?
lol I just told you what’s gonna happen…i just said after his first hit his body will breakdown…..

Going out on a limb Jazz, I say Zeke will help us in the red zone as usual/he may get cut that would be a HUGE shocker (I might a little lol). More so, I think they let Duece get a lot of carries, he possibly wins the job, somehow you have to make him a weapon, I think if on the right team in the right scheme, there's some things he can do

I'll go out on a limb and guess someone who's not on this roster. A FA cut before the season starts.
Which specific one I don't know.
