This is one of the many ways our media ruins Cowboys players,,,, unrealistic expectations and superstardom bestowed upon them well before it's warranted.https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/no-5-how-does-caleb-downs-live-up-to-expecations
Consensus is he does not have to be All Pro. And they think he can handle the status well. But as one says, still give him a few years as it is a change. Though he handled his college career stats very well also.
I think he will be just fine as well. As the article says, he is already becoming a locker room leader.
My prediction is someone calls him a bust by 3rd game lolhttps://www.dallascowboys.com/news/no-5-how-does-caleb-downs-live-up-to-expecations

Are people really saying that? The expectations are, for the most part, distanced from reality.
He's going to be a great player on day 1 but the idea that he's going to singlehandedly elevate the defense more than on the margins is exaggerated.
Q doesn't think so.Kid is gonna be the latest Star that Jerry Jones wastes.
The list is growing every year.
Needs to have the impact that Ed Reed/Troy Polamalu had at that position.
Anything less and the perception will be his play did not match the hype.
Because the hype is so extreme.
Downs reminds me of Darren Woodson.https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/no-5-how-does-caleb-downs-live-up-to-expecations

Yep. I want him to make me think of Ronnie Lott in game 1.I expect an Ed Reed type of career. From rookie year on.
