This may have been the best corner back class ever, so I thought it'd be interesting to see how they fared statistically (information take from here).

guess Tracy Porter wasn't as bad as you thought, eh?

Aqib Talib surprised all of us.

After that singular video of him being beat by Jordy Nelson, we all wrote him off as not a good CB, but he did do a great job.

I'd say his performance as a rookie was pretty poor, which might be we saw the least amount of playing time by far among his class.

he didn't see as much playing time, but saw as much action as anyone else, and graded about the same

Talib performed well in his limited action in a Cover 2 defense. His biggest problem wasn't the Nelson video, but his red flag character issues.

Being thrown at so many times in just 5 games is NOT a good thing.

that's not indicative of performance, just that teams knew he was a rooke corner and targeted him as such

Yes, it most certainly is indicative of performance. It's not conclusive, but it certainly shows he was picked on constantly when he was on the field, which is obviously not a good thing. You can't just chalk it up to "he's a rookie" as clearly none of the other rookies were picked on that much.

no, the performance in itself is what you look at, not how many times a corner was targeted

that's called "piling on"

He was a target because QB's felt he was a weak link. Thats why any corner or safety is targeted, ask Roy.....

ok

Anthony Henry was targeted alot in '06, but still did very well

again, it's performance, not the number of targets

When did Jenkins have 3 TDs? I can only remember one...and I can't remember Scandrick's at all.

Get thrown at 20 times a game and you are going to end up getting picks. Henry isn't really a good example because he's on the opposite side of Newman...who nobody wants to throw at.

But WHY was targeted so much? Because he was slow, played 15yrds off the ball, and got beat often and eventually TRADED....

his ypa was very good in '06, despite the high number of targets

And teams still went after him, WHY, cause he wasn't that good and they liked their chances against him... AH played way off the ball and gave up 1st downs consistently.. Heck, against the Ravens, Mason beat him all game with just 1 arm...

It was how many TDs were scored against that corner.

Making it awfully hard to keep my eyes off of DRC and Flowers.

According to the stats Flowers had a terrible season, and having played only 9 games as a starter.
