2010 NFL Draft moves to primetime.

I'm indifferent to the change, honestly.

It may be easier to appreciate the draft in smaller bites rather than having the whole meal.

"We continue to look for ways to make the draft more accessible to more fans," said Commissioner Roger Goodell. "Moving the first round to prime time on Thursday night will make the first round of the draft available to fans on what is typically the most-watched night of television."
HAHAHA, did he really say that with a straight face? This is about us huh?

I guess the NFL forgot about the entire West Coast.

4:30 PM start time on Thursday.
3:30 PM start time on Friday.
7 fricken AM on Saturday morning.

Okay, Roger, I've accepted this whole no effort at all to bring football to Los Angeles but come on now. I love the draft but I guess I just don't get to watch it anymore.

Well, this has been rumored for some time. No surprise.

The NFL sold out years ago and this is just part of the evolution of this beautiful, important process that has become somewhat of a game show for casual fans.

Some of my favorite memories as a football fan were watching it on Tuesdays with Pete Rozelle stepping to the podium at 6 a.m. when the sun hadn't even come up yet. Talk about Christmas.

What, you don't have Tivo on the west coast? Stop your whining!

How much longer before the Super Bowl is a pay-per-view event with a 9 PM Eastern kickoff time?

Hobbies I wish Roger Goodell would take up:

-- Skydiving

-- Cliff diving

-- Tightrope walking

-- Great White hunting

-- Black mamba collecting

Greed strikes again.

Yeah, it's about getting the first couple of rounds on prime time, so the rights can be sold for a higher price.

Of course I have Tivo..but do you really think I'll be able to sit here at work, stay off this message board, and ignore the draft until I get home and watch it? Come on now.

I dont have TiVo and I'd be pissed of I lived on the West Coast and had to deal with those times

Unbelievable.

Goodell ruined my favorite weekend of the year.

Hey Roger.... some people have to work on Fridays you dope.

I want to watch the draft all day on a saturday at say ooooohhhh 12 PM and be able to chat with my peeps on the zone and listen to the ticket at the same time without the thought of going to bed because I have work the next day.

I can't believe this.

You know.. I don't think that's too far fetched.

This will be interesting; NO mention where it will be held though. Thought they also would move it out of NYC??? The FANs made the draft into an unofficial "national holiday"; we'll see soon enough if the NFL just killed the golden-egg laying goose... :(

The NFL's new motto: "If it ain't broke, fix it."
