Start the season 3-0 finish the season 4-9 .. This team isn't beating half those teams on this schedule.. My prediction 7-9 for the season.

With this current team, looking at the schedule, Dallas goes 7-9/8-8, at best 9-7, IMO. A good draft and help on the interior O-line, and I see the Cowboys going at least 10-6. Clabo, Moore AND Winston will still be on the market after the Draft. Book it. And I expect Mr. Jones to ink up a deal with one of them. I gotta give Jason Garrett credit on one thing: He has influenced the cutting of bums like Spears. BPA all through the draft, please Lord.

It's been a long time since the schedule has seemingly favored us this much.

The trend of a few scheduling annoyances has been broken, including:

Not having to open on the road
Not having to finish the season on the road
Not having an early bye week
Not having to go to GB (the previous three times we've played them was in Lambeau in 08,09,10)

Pretty much everything I've been asking for we've gotten. I don't much like playing @ chicago in December because the weather is sure to be brutal... but at that point Chicago will may be on their downhill slide, as the trend suggests.

In a conventional sense, the schedule sets up quite well for the Cowboys. Unfortunately, there's nothing conventional about this team.

Lets start by beating Giants at home for starters , in prime time , which we haven't done at home for a while ( correct? )

We beat NY in NY on prime time last year to start the season.

Okay, here's a question: why does everyone think opening on the road is so bad? My take on it is that you're as healthy as you're ever going to be going into week 1, and you have lots of extra time to prepare for the game so the travel day isn't really wearing you down or taking important time away from you. I'll take my home games later, when the team can benefit from the rest and home facilities. The only downside I see is that the opening-day crowd is really into it, but heck, that's true whenever the Cowboys are in town.

Yeah, but we haven't beat them at home in prime time since like 2008, so yeah it would be nice to get that monkey off our back.

We have a winner here.

And if you play on the road and lose, you can still say it was a road game so no big loss. If you lose at home than that is a problem. As a Giant fan this is how I will be looking at our first game with you guys. If we win, perfect. But if we lose, still not the end of the world because we still have 8 home games.

True, as I said before though home or away just go out and play quality ball you do that and you win more times than not be it on the road or at home.
Cowboys do not need to place any extra pressure on themselfs just go out and play good football and the results will take care of themselfs.

Well, forget prime time: we haven't beaten them at home period since 2008.

Looks like 9-7, so maybe Ware's guarantee is safe.
The late bye will be a godsend.
Might even win a playoff game if not too banged up.

In a vacuum that makes sense. But most still view home games as favorable vs road games... meaning there's a better chance of a victory of course.

Starting 1-0 vs starting 0-1 is the difference. It's all about setting a tone for the season.

I think the giants don't this year. But it was noteworthy enough to mention on espn cuz it is rare now. I could be wron but pretty sure it was giants

GIants play the SKins in week 17.

LIke I said...

EVERY. SINGLE. TEAM.. faces a division opponent in week 17. It's done that way ON PURPOSE. No exceptions.

Of course they want games late in the season that have meaning to them.

Well... they want games late in the season with the "Potential" to have meaning.

And for the most part that's what they've got since going to this layout, with a few exceptions.

This team hasn't had a strong start since 2007. Desperately needs one this year, with this schedule.
