Dirk Nowitzki will always be my favorite basketball player of all time but I think the Mavs need to rebuild. Or at least get rid of everyone except dirk.

For the mavs, that's been the plan, but Cuban seems to think he can lure a top talent in free agency, I guess we'll see, but you guys' sake, I hope he has a better contingency plan than last offseason

Cubes plan is to sign one Max this year and build team, then Dirk said he would resign for way less and they get another max next year. Dirks Game isn't predicated on athleticism obviously. He can play at high level a few more years. He just cant be the only star. I kinda wouldn't mind getting Boogie from the Kings somehow. Cousins is a bonehead but excellent young center.

if cousins maturity was as good as his game, he would be the best big in the NBA.....but he is a giant migraine headache

Draft is Thursday night. With doc rivers going to the clips, it's highly unlikely that CP3 is going anywhere. And Howard is probably either staying in LA or going to Houston. So, for mavs fans sake, you better hope Cuban and co have a decent contingency plan, or the mavs won't be much different from this past season.

Trade rumors I've heard include...

Bledsoe to Orlando for afflolo, and other stuff to the clips

Thomas Robinson to the cavs or maybe spurs, most likely cavs tho, rockets are only trying to trade him for cap room to go after Howard

Also, as expected, JR Smith declined his option and will become a FA, and tyreke Evans received a qualifying offer from the kings, officially making him a restricted free agent

DH will land in either Houston or Texas imho.
Hou is favorite by a good margin.
BUT don't discount Cubes argument to DH which is you can come here and pick your team.
It's a clean slate that will be built with guys you want and Dirk as a cheap resign.
That's the argument DH wants to hear.

Best bigs left on 'market' after DH:
Boogie-trade target
Bynum-if he can pass anyone's physical

CP3 is staying but that team is not getting better.
Rivers can coach but they are still going to struggle with that highly paid core of guys not gelling and no cap space to get better around them.
The Celts shuffle deal would have made them better now and cheaper in the very near future.
Instead they have to hope Blake and Jordan improve drastically over the next few seasons.

Landing spot for old Celts will be intriguing. They can make almost any team a contender/pretender.
But they aren't good enough to carry anyone to a title alone.
Wonder if the
Spurs can get one or both guys? That would be a crazy one year ride.

Rumor has it Dwight doesn't want to resign with the lakers. So it will be either Dallas or Houston IMO, with my pick being Houston

Crazy draft so far! The "top 2" guys going 6-7 was crazy. Although, in my opinion, oladipo was the best player. I think the cavs messed up, but only time will tell. Who do mavs fans want?

Its a miracle the mavs won the championship because Cuban and nelson are a travesty at draft.

I don't get it, they don't want to draft for cap room, but they take larkin in a trade? Why not take Schroeder or karasev and keep them in Europe for a year? Guess that makes too much sense

Karasev is coming to the NBA year one but not sure about Schroeder. I know they did save money by trading down to get Barea 2.0.

So do I, as JJ Barea did very well for the Mavericks running pick & roll and shooting 3's... which is exactly what Barea exceled at. He'll be a nice change of pace player.

I'm more excited about the 2nd round pick Ricardo Ledo. He is a project but has all the ability to make it in the NBA. Highly regarded player and McDonalds All-American coming out of high school. Should be a scoring 2-guard, he's 6' 6" so size projects nice. He will need to get comfortable playing off the ball because he wont see the ball like he always has but he definitely has the potential to be a high reward player.

^This is vs. high school players so take it with a grain of salt (he never played in college) but you can clearly see he has ability and ball handling skills.

That celtics/nets trade has a potential to be either glorious or disastrous for the nets! As for the celtics, I think it's obvious they'll take their time bringing rondo back and tank for a chance to take "the next lebron" next season, wiggins.

Well, it's not like the Nets have any room to do much anyway. I don't see how it can be a disaster. Either they are a team with no cap room with Humphries/Evans/Wallace or a team with no cap room with Garnett/Pierce/Terry.

As for Wiggins, I didn't even think about that haha. If they land him it's an absolutely genius move by Danny Ainge. I've also read rumors of them trading Humphries to Charlotte.

Wiggins is something special; he's no Lebron but he is a damn good basketball player. His footwork is on another level, absolutely disgusting how he can create space and take it to the hole. I can't wait to watch him at KU.

At least it's a guy that everyone has heard of, I guess. The spurs haven't taken a guy I've heard of besides Kawhi Leonard. At least they usually turn out to at least be contributors
