I like the Spurs picks this year. The frenchy was very good at the Hoop Summit. Deshaun Thomas played for Ohio State and was one of their top players. I think he was a great 2nd round pick, and surprised he fell that far. Watched him play against Purdue this season from the 3rd row. He was a top recruit in HS in the state of Indiana but Ohio State usually leurs the best players (he was a McDonald's All American).

In short, he's one of the top players at one of the best basketball programs in the US who played in the best basketball conference in the NCAA.

He's a steal if you ask me.

I forgot he also led the B1G, best conference in the country, in scoring this season at 19.8 ppg.

To be ranked, a player must appear in at least 75.0% of their team's games.

Scoring wise he's on that list with some players who did real well in the draft tonight... Trey Burke, Cody Zeller, Victor Oladipo, Tim Hardaway Jr.

If you saw Draymond Green from Golden State this past season at Golden State you have an example of a B1G player who was real nice in college slipping to the 2nd round and making an immediate impact on the NBA. Love the Big 10!

Well, it's not like the Nets have any room to do much anyway. I don't see how it can be a disaster. Either they are a team with no cap room with Humphries/Evans/Wallace or a team with no cap room with Garnett/Pierce/Terry.

As for Wiggins, I didn't even think about that haha. If they land him it's an absolutely genius move by Danny Ainge. I've also read rumors of them trading Humphries to Charlotte.

Wiggins is something special; he's no Lebron but he is a damn good basketball player. His footwork is on another level, absolutely disgusting how he can create space and take it to the hole. I can't wait to watch him at KU.

There is a prospect that is playing down in North Carolina right now that might be better.

Harry Giles might be the best player to come out of North Carolina since Michael Jordan. Right now, they say he's better then James Worthy was, who was the best Small Forward to probably ever come out of NC, at a similar stage of his career. He's a 6'9" freshman who can post, run the floor, run the break and play defense.

I haven't heard of him before, thanks for posting. On ESPN it shows him as class of #1 prospect so we wont see him next year.

Here is another guy I heard about that could be taking Wiggins spot as the #1 in 2014. It looks to be a good lottery draft so I can see why Boston is going into the tank. I still think Wiggins will take it though.

Hope the Sixers can find a way to get Wiggins or Parker. Its early into his tenure, but i like what Hinkie did in the draft. Took alot of guts to trade away Jrue, and i'll miss the guy, but the Sixers will no doubt be more fun to watch next year with Noel and MCW. Now if we can only get rid of Evan Turner next year and use our 2 first round picks in some way to land one of the two studs.

Julius Randle may well end up the best player in the 2014 class.

He spent much of last HS season injured but at 6'9" 240 he has the power and athleticism to match even Wiggins.
He was often considered the top recruit in the class before injury.

He has a zillion ballislife vids out there.

So, apparently the mavs are interested in Andrew Bynum if they can't get Howard. How do you mavs fans feel about that?

No part of me believes that Randle will be a Wiggens. I think Randle can be a very good player but I don't see him as a guy who can break down a defense of the dribble, create for himself in the half court or have the kind of inside outside game that makes you respect him anywhere on the floor.

Of course, Wiggens has to be able to carry that over into the College game but if he does, and I think he will, then I think Wiggens is another kind of player. He's got Kobe, LeBron, Michael type of skills IMO.

Posted this last week but I think this is exactly what the Lakers are thinking as well.

says bynum's agent. the guy can't even work out for teams at this point so all he can do is keep his client's name out there and hope someone pays him big money.

if dh goes to houston then dallas will need a plan b.
bynum could be a part of that plan.

if he is signed to the reported injury/minute played protected contract of a brandon roy i'd be fine with that.
when healthy he is a top 5 center.

as a mavs fan there is nothing but possibility at this point and they range from getting DH AND Rondo to completely tanking with everything in between as options.

Randle and Wiggins have played each other on the AAU circuits.
Wiggins is the quicker player but he lacks the NBA body that Randle already possesses.
Randle blocked Wiggins 3 times in one game.
Wiggins did outscore Randle 28-15 but the game was 81-80 and Randle's team was ahead until he fouled out at the end.

Wiggins is an undeniable talent but Randle is the better half court player and more physical guy.
Will be fun to watch and see how they develop.

I think Wiggins is a better college prospect but Randle a better NBA prospect. Randle is a traditional 4 in the sense of Barkley or Malone.
Wiggins is a high flying 3 who tortures people running the court.

They all play each other at AAU events. They are all on AAU teams but that doesn't really tell you about what they will be once they enter the NBA. A lot of that depends on how good the surrounding team they play on is and how deep they are. Randle is a 6'9" PF. Yeah, he has an NBA body but he's not going to be able to dominate in the Pro's like he will in College IMO. His body is not suited to play PF in the NBA in my opinion. I mean, unless he's Carl Malone and he's not.

Wiggins on the other hand, he's 6'7" with uncommon athleticism. He has a chance to become something very special in the NBA because he will be a much tougher matchup in the Pro Game, assuming he continues to come along.

Anyone who throws money at Bynum right now is a complete fool, imo. Its not that he CAN'T work out for interested teams right now, its that he WON'T.. per his agent.

I would throw money at Oden before even considering Bynum. With Oden all you get is bad knees. With Bynum you get bad knees, immaturity, and stupid play.

Randle is a 6'9" Power Forward. How many of those guys are big time in the NBA? I can read you a list of guys who were right around 6'9" 250 lbs who were college superstars and not much more then solid players in the NBA. Wiggins is the guy the NBA is interested in. The body is a side note at this point. They are 18 years old, they are both going to get bigger. That's actually part of the concern for Randle. He's already 240-250. He could get bigger and that would not be a good thing. Wiggins, he's going to be 220-230 before it's said and done and that's a good weight for him.

The NBA would have taken Wiggins #1 in this years draft had he gone hardship. They believe he is going to be the best talent in this class but we'll see what happens. I absolutely agree that between the two, he is a much better NBA prospect at this stage of his career.
