You gone find another GM better than that? JJ would be fired if he were the GM of another team? With win totals amongst the elite over a ten season stretch? What are y'all whinnying about? A real GM gone suit up and get you over the hump come playoff time? Jerry gets no credit for that? He gets criticized for every loss I think it's appropriate to add some counter balance to some of the falsehoods surrounding the Dallas Cowboys! Every time the Cowboys lose a game, they say the Cowboys are the worst run franchise in pro sports, but reality is the Cowboys have been a top 10 team for two decades despite all the negative perceptions and falsehoods. No nuance when it come to the Cowboys(Nuance isn't that the word smart people like to use) if they win a couple of game: the cowboys are complete failures if they dont win with all that talent... if they lose a couple of games: the cowboys are the worst run team in pro sports. Troy Aikman the king of that

You can fail with a real GM. You truly don't believe the Cowboys are one GM a way from Lombardi's falling in your lap, do you?

We saw under Garret in particular that win totals can be deceptive. We bounced back and forth between good and bad years. Part of the reason that occurred was because the NFC East was down and we were playing an easier schedule after the bad years.

What really matters is our playoff record over the last 30 years. No other team in the NFC has a longer drought of not playing in an NFC Championship Game than Dallas. That trumps regular-season victories.

I think we have to look at the lack of playoff success by that GM since the mid-1990s. No other GM would continue to hold the job with that track record. He earned some leeway for those three Super Bowl teams, but he burned through that a long time ago.

My contention is that the Joneses don't use all aspects of team-building, which is why I do believe the GM is keeping us from contending for Lombardi's. After Jimmy left, Jerry neglected the draft, instead believing he could make splashes in free agency when he needed players. When he realized that a lot of those splashes ended up not being worth their salaries, he took the opposite approach, focusing on the draft and neglecting high-cost (or even medium-cost) free agents. You can't neglect one aspect of team-building and hope to keep up with teams that use all of them. It catches up to you in the playoffs, where you face those better-built teams.

Worst post in memory. It’s either a gag, Jerry’s account, or a severely challenged fan.

Ignorance isn't a "counterbalance". It's just ignorance. And why are we pretending 2024 didn't happen?

Most teams bottom out and lose on purpose when they know they have no chance to contend. Not Jones. Jones has his coaches out there doing everything they can to win meaningless December games that cost the team a fortune in draft capital. 3 straight 12 win seasons doesn't mask this organization's shortcomings, it magnifies them. Where it really mattered, they won 2 wildcard games. The measuring stick is not league average. The measuring stick is Lombardis and the old fool and his son have been weighed in the balances and found wanting.

Damn, put on the bullet proof vest! Lol

An argument made to justify a permanent, lifelong NFL general manager.

I'm alright ! I'm alright.
Don't nobody worry 'bout me!
You got to give me a fight?
Why don't you just let me be?

He just showed up like in the last week but supposedly was an old member.
Rambo was the #1 homer then CCBOY pushed him out but NEITHER of them hold a candle to this Jethro minion.

Well I'd like to take my chances with a real GM over dumb and dumber we currently have.
Top 10 team 20 year stretch. Drafted more pro bowlers -- all pros -- ROY than just about anybody the past 20 years
