2014 vs 2016

Let's avoid the clunker to the skins mid season.... clunker vs AZ because Romo was hurt/concussed... and what do you know... smack down vs philly on thanksgiving at at&t... don't look now but this team could be even better..

Man we need Romo for the extra 1.1 pts per game.

Given the runners, OL, and receivers are all better, I see better production than 2014 with Romo. Zeke, TWill, Bease, Butler, and Whitehead are all better than their 2014 counterparts.

Whitehead isn't quite as good a returner as Harris but he brings more to the offense.

Here are a few comps....really similar for sure. This year's defense is ahead though.

2014
Offense scoring 29.2ppg
RB rank = 1
QB rank =1 (113.2 rating)
Total Defense rank = 19
Scoring Defense rank = 15

2016
Offense scoring = 26.9 ppg
RB rank =1
QB rank = 6 (99.6)
Total defense rank = 9
Scoring defense rank = 7

Not to mention we seem to have knocked off the home jinxy. We've sucked at AT&T even going 4-4 in 2014. We're already 3-1!!

Yes
Just like this year.
Then 6 in a row
Just like this year

I'll take it!
I don't know about that. The very next game was the big upset loss to the Commanders, where our QB got his back broken. It's nice that history has repeated itself to this point, but it can stop now.

The Commanders, who sucked. Good thing this week's opponent isn't one to be taken lightly.

I don't want the same outcome as 2014. Just a lil more defensive help and we could goto the Super Bowl baby. It's hard getting there, so let's not squander our opportunities.

Our defense seems to be playing better than 2014, if Gregory keeps his head straight he could potentially be back before the end of the season. That should improve the rotation.

And if the nerve starts firing...

He won't continue to play like that but it was far from a terrible game. He's yet to have as bad a game as Romo had in the 2014 opener. Although Dak didn't have his best stuff Sunday Night he made some good plays and when the game was on the line in regulation and OT he was outstanding. Despite the win and his great play in crunch time, you have some that can't wait to bench him. Can't be a stranger FAN base than this one. He was going up against a good Philly defense that's tied for 3rd in sacks this season and he maintained his poise throughout the game. Romo would have had a tough time surviving the pressure that was put on Dak.

Some here just can't wait to go back to where we've been with Romo. We haven't won anything with him and we're certainly not going to win anything with him now with all the games he's missed, coming off a broken back. He'll be gun shy and defenses will be trying to take him out. You lose the read option with him at QB that's been so effective this season. If we're going to win anything in 2016 it's going to be with Dak.

No way Romo would have survived the blitz against Philly. Sure he might get the ball off for big plays more so than Dak. But it will cost him with some late, hard hits that will break his back once again.

A bad back is nothing to sneeze at. Its not going to heal like if he were young. So he might be better off just being a backup.

With the pressure Dak faced it would have likely led to a strip fumble for Romo which is something that has plagued him throughout his career. I believe he would have tossed at least 2 picks with all the pressure he would have faced. Some here are making a big deal about the one INT Dak threw, as if Romo doesn't throw picks.

Similar stats, which really just speaks to the job Tony did, and secondly, Marinelli. This team is better than the 2014 team, just about everywhere.

Tony should have won MVP and Rod should have won Defensive Coach of the Year, in my opinion. Tony was robbed, and how Marinelli got that rag tag bunch of scrubs as a top 3 team in turnovers is pretty incredible. Byproduct of Tony's success throwing the rock, but still. They had no business being that good at getting turnovers.

I prefer this team.

Better defense and better run game because Zeke actually has vision.

IMO, Romo will play a factor at some point.
You may very well be right. You never know in the NFL
It is amazing statistically the similarities between 14-16
Zeke is a more dangerous RB
The vibe on this team just seems better
