25 days till the flame ignites. we really need a TV audience for the ceremonies. would be a great birthday present if TV ratings go up.

So, I hear, Team Canada named, Cindy Crosby El Capitan, with Toews(who should be Captain) as an alternative. What a JOKE. I am not Canadian, and maybe I have a biased opinion since I am a Blackhawks fan, but Cindy is not a Captain. Seriously, What a Joke!

I hope Team USA beats the piss out of them, and Cindy throws some sort of tantrum, and makes Canada look like a bunch of children.

Ha, there ya go. Crosby is 10x the player Toews is, has done more for team Canada than Toews has, and there is no reason whatsoever why he is "not a captain". You don't become the most talented player this generation has seen by not busting your tail. He's a leader, and all I can gather from your post is you think he wines a lot.

I gather from your post, you do not watch a lot of Hockey. Cindy is definitely a better scorer than Toews, but Toews is a complete player, and IMO, one of the better Captains in the league. Just because you are the best scorer in the league, does not make you a leader. Watch some Penguin games, before you tell me Cindy is a better player. Toews is by far a better Captain than Cindy, and in the end, will win more championships than her.

Hockey is my favorite sport, so I watch more than enough hockey. Crosby is the most complete player in the league, beyond scoring. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that Toews isn't a complete player or a poor captain, because that would be stupid. However, Crosby is the most deserving player to be named captain of Canada. If Toews was named captain, I wouldn't be saying he doesn't deserve it. The Blackhawks are the more complete team, that's about it. It's obvious Crosby just ruffles your feathers. Crosby has done nothing to suggest he isn't a leader.

Since I just getting into hockey recently I'm excited to watch USA hockey. I've always like curling to...lol Also ski jump, bobsled, luge, and skeleton.

Malkin, Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Datsyuk, Tarasenko, Radulov. That's as talented of a top 6 as any other team in the world.

Third line should have Anisimov and Kulemin, who are both good two way players. Fourth line will have two guys over the age of 30...life long KHLers.

They've got talent in goal if Bobrovsky gets hot, and their defense has potential, though they are certainly behind other teams on the blue line.

If whoever is coaching the Russians can get them to actually play a two-way game, they are talented enough to beat anybody.

This notion that Canada and USA are clear frontrunners is a myth. Sweden, Russia, and Finland should all be in medal contention as well.

Well, I did not take into account home ice advantage, but I really see the US and Canada as #1-2, not in that order, not saying Russia will not compete, but I do not see then winning.

Well I don't either, just saying that it wouldn't really be a surprise if they got a medal.

Russia will do everything outside of maiming the Canadian team to win Gold. Canada should win as we have the best team on paper but we don't win on the big rink. As for the US, they have never won Gold outside the USA.

I will miss part of our coverage in Canada as my son has a hockey tournament in Phoenix on your Presidents' Day Long Weekend. I guess I can watch your coverage on NBC etc but won't be the same. Sigh

USA should win the medal count but hopefully Canada can win the Winter Olympics like we did in Vancouver when we had the most Gold ever by any country at a Winter Olympics which is what the IOC considers the deciding factor.
