So, Ron, give me the run down of the draft......what are the pick possibilities for the Sixers? From what I understand, they have the potential to get a bunch of 1st rounders. BTW, I see the Celtics get 5 2nd rounders. The Spurs only have 1 pick in this draft. I wonder if Pop and RC will utilize it or waste it on a draft and stash that will never play in the league.

sixers mentioned in the "playoff thread"... two years too early.. ;)

sixers have three picks in round one, could possibly have 4 if the lakers fall outside of the top 3 (won't happen).

weak draft, so i wouldn't be surprised to see them trade one of their late picks, spurs should do the same, unless a big with talent, like Thon Maker or Ben Bentile is available.

sixers will draft ingram or simmons in the top two (neck & neck for top pick, ingram fits, but simmons is unique)... if they fall to four they will draft kris dunn.... pick up one talent late, trade the other pick into a future draft (hopefully)... will trade oakafur in the offseason as well... embiid & saric will finally play 2 years later.

edit: best case scenario they get picks 1 & 4... then you will see either simmons & murrary, or Ingram & Dunn.... at least thats how those pairs fit in my head...

The slate is set.

Cleveland is no shoe in versus Detroit in the first round. Detroit owns the regular season series 2-1.

Who ya got?

It'll be the cavs vs warriors or spurs. Seemed too obvious before the season even started.

First Post Season Award goes to Kawhi

Defensive Player Of The Year:
Leonard is just the second perimeter player in NBA history to win the award in consecutive seasons, joining Milwaukee's Sidney Moncrief in 1982-83 and 1983-84, the first two seasons the award was given. Leonard was the first non-big man to win the award since Ron Artest in 2003-04 when he earned the honor last season.

Memphis is so poorly coached.

I don't know about that...
They are missing most of their team and they still made the playoffs as a seventh seed...
most teams would have faded and gone away.... When Matt Barnes is your second option, & Jordan Farmer your third, you have depth problems.

They have roster issues but they're still poorly coached. Terrible help defense and ball movement.

its tough to call for me because they don't have much nba talent, and the players have only being playing together for a month or so... some just got to the system (farmer & mumford).....

but if you're right, i'm sure he will be evaluated properly next year... they had no problem moving on from their last coach quickly....

And they probably shouldn't have. He was coaching Z-Bo the best way possible and using his game to the fullest.

It could just be a matter of him getting old though. He'll be 35 next year.

Always amazing how the rockets can have good talent and play in such a way that you ask "do they know what basketball is?"

James Harden makes them 4 on 5 on defense, and Dwight Howard is so inconsistent these days.

Throw in Michael Beasley and you have a chemistry nightmare, to include an interim coach.

I hate james harden's game... even on offense.
not saying he can't play (well on offense at least)... I just don't like his game.

To be fair...I went to the last Rockets/Lakers game...the arena cheered harden and booed dwight.

Imagine if you werent the problem and everyone was blaming you? I'd have an inconsistent game too.

D12 was a tool the year they went to the finals, and continued to be well after... He's super sensitive, and thinks his game is better than it is...
