I could be wrong but actual pay for the year and their cap # can be very different.

I went thru them all, and didnt see anything wrong with what they say .

"
RB2 - Ezekiel Elliott - $16,800,066
Look, Elliott may end up being a massive star in the NFL, but as of now he's making more in 2016 than any other NFL RB--that includes Adrian Peterson, the NFL's rushing leader. Elliott has yet to take an NFL carry, and yet he's pulling home almost $17M. For now, he's overpaid."

It could be that EE is getting more cash this year than the others drafted above him, and next year they
will make more than him.
I think all they are really saying here, is like some other rookies, he is paid a lot.
But the same is true for all rookies drafted high, and none have proved they are worth it.
I think they wanted to include EE as he is well known ,and went to cowboys.
And he is highest paid RB, that is why , highest for his position.
Like wentz isnt no where near what Tony Flacco and other qb make.

I agree on joe flacco and some others,

I had to look that up.......:omg:

16.3 million was his signing bonus ....So for one season...on paper he is making over 16 mil+

But the overall deal was 4 years...24.9mil. So the average is a little more than 6mil a year. The same they offered Murray 2 years ago....

lol, what does PFF have to do with a list 247 Sports put together? They put Elliot on the list because of some nonsense about his cap number.

And are we really going to argue that Crawford has lived up to his contract so far?

Is Crawford the 81st best interior d lineman in the league

PFF articles inspire me. They make me realize how easy it must be to get a job in that field. I've always wanted to be a sports writer and if these people can make it, surely I can.

Based on their logic the 3 guys taken before him would be even more over paid. I'm sorry I wasted 30 seconds of my life reading such trash.

You need to be smart like me. I saw the title and figured I should read the responses before clicking on the article. Looks like I did the right thing. :)

Based on the way they evaluate, yeah. What's your system for objectively evaluating NFL players?

PFF is a data point, it's not THE ONLY data point. So many complaints about their system, but at least it's a system. It's not just, "I saw this one guy play well, so he must be better than all these other guys I've never seen play, based solely on their ESPN stats page."

PFF isn't the gospel, but the way people act like their system is completely invalid because they don't like the results is ridiculous. Come up with a better one.

Like I said, anyone on a new contract is gonna be skewed because they are counting the entire signing bonus. Rookie or resigned.

I don't think it is PFF putting this out....isn't it 247 Sports?

247 is starting to make me mad. I see an article I want to read and I have to pay for it. $10 bucks a month is steep to read the news. Makes me appreciate what we have here.

Someone posted a tip about using the incognito tab on Chrome to view the pages and it works. The Dallas News is doing the same.....it's the trend.

Well the article was about actual pay $ this year , and the highest for some positions.
So all they are saying in regard to EE is he is making that much this year, and that is highest of any RB.
It isnt about avg's, and doesnt really mean much.

signing bonus is part of the pay , it spends like the rest .
True, but next year then Elliott should be the biggest value because the only cash he will get is his salary....1.6m. It is weird calling a player the most expensive for the year before the year even starts.

If these rankings are based on PFF grades, how can Elliot possibly be on the list when he has no PFF grade and is being paid the legally obligated amount due to his draft position?

I have no issue with Tyrone Crawford's inclusion and I'm a little surprised Brandon Carr missed the list.

Ugh, why did even start to read that garbage. Half of the guys they list as "overpaid" just signed new contracts this offseason, so how can you call them overpaid?? Clearly those teams paid what they deemed the players to be worth. If those guys play like trash the next two seasons, then you can say they are "overpaid". And as for Zeke, how can you say the 4th overall pick in this years draft is overpaid? The salaries for the top 5 draft picks are pretty much set before the picks are made, regardless of what players get drafted there. Easily the stupidest thing I've read online today.

A better one would be simple sorting per game averages for...anything. I have no interest in coming up with a better one but that system is so poor that there is 0 improvement from no system whatsoever to pff.
