Jared Goff and Carson Wentz are two QBs that Dak will forever be linked to considering they went 1 and 2 while Dak went in the 4th round. Both of them were a big part in their team’s reaching the Super Bowl, but both of them were traded after receiving big contracts because their headcoach/gm realized they werent good enough going forward.

Matthew Stafford took over for Goff and lead his team to a Super Bowl win in his first year w the team. Jalen Hurts took over for Wentz and lead his team to a Super Bowl in his second year as a starter.

So not only did those two franchises have success with both of these QBs, they quickly identified that they werent the long term answer and moved on and had immediate success with their new QB.

What is Dallas doing???

Crazy part is I actually put Dak as the best QB from that class. Not anymore, he's the best regular season QB, but Goff performs better in the playoffs

You have a GM who is afraid to admit mistakes.

He kept Garrett for nearly a decade when it was obvious he should have changed directions years earlier.

I think there's a better than zero chance that both Dak and McCarthy are back when both should likely be gone.

Because removing both of them would be too many mistakes for Jerry to admit to.

Because removing both of them would be too much responsibility for Jerry to stomach.
Its this and the fact that he is terrible at his job and we dont have a real personnel guy here to find the next guy.

Jerry will stick with status quo because he is incapable of scouting someone better/building a team to help the next guy succeed

The 49ers moved on from Garopollo too after two Championship games and Superbowl appearance.

We also have a GM who has no fear of losing his job. That matters. He's under no pressure to produce results.

They do just well enough in drafting, likely due to McClay, to stay in the mix. But Jerry just isn't skilled enough to finish off the job.

It's also not a talent evaluation problem. He sucks at hiring coaches as a GM too. Not just HCs either. He's had some doozy assistants - Monte Kiffin, Rod Marinelli, etc.

Jerry is so desperate to be seen as a football guy that I think he latches onto these retreads thinking by tapping these big names it makes him look smart.

I'd give my left nut for him to wake up and go bold and find a young, up and comer like a LaFleur or McDaniel.

Hell the Patriots moved on from Brady, and in Brady's final 4 seasons with the Pats he had won two Superbowls in that time frame, NFL MVP and a playoff record of 8-2. If they can move on from the GOAT, why are tied down to this choker?

Also notice that the Rams and Eagles didn't wait around saying that hey we need to give them better receivers and better defense and better RB's and better foot rubs. No they just tossed them aside and moved on.
I vividly remember Broaddus saying back in 2019, Jerry asked the coaches and the personnel department “are they sure Dak is the guy”.

He cant evaluate talent himself but calls all the shots. Hes terrible

Im not as high on McClay as others. Hes done a good job for the most part, but he clearly has trouble scouting certain positions.

Remember Jerry wanted Manziel and tried to trade up for Paxton Lynch? This lets me know why he is so hesitant to move on from Dak

This should be a jeopardy question. I would love to hear the answers for the front office.
