The 31 other teams know we are open to adding a safety. NFC clubs, especially our divisional foes, are less likely to call us about a player they are willing to move.

But maybe we have someone they're high on, maybe they want a future draft pick.

And a load of safeties will hit the street after training camp when the Turk swings his hefty blade.

There are also internal options.

I know Allen Hurns can play in the slot, but was thinking about typical 5-9, jitterbug quick slot-types.

I love Joel Lanning the LB. Not a fan of Joel Lanning the QB.....but, if he makes the team, it gives us an emergency QB. Lanning is tough, hard nosed, and reminds me a lot of Bill Bates with the way he overachieves. He plays bigger than his athletic talent, and I love that....
