Two guys were providing commentary on the College Football Playoff show
Their Final 4 predictions were

OSU, LSU, Clemson, OU
OSU, LSU, Clemson, Utah

One guy thinks Clemson wins it all and that this team over the last two months now is ven better than last years Champs. He also thought Utah was the most complete team currently outside the top 4

The other guy didn't pick a title winner, but picked Oregon to beat Utah and Oklahoma to beat Baylor...wirh OU getti gthe 4th slot.
He also though that if UGa upset LSU, they would both make the Final 4
If it's an all time classic and UGA wins by a field goal then yeah, I can absolutely see that happening.

I see no scenario where LSU gets left out, barring a 3 TD blowout loss.
Even then, they might make it.
They've beaten as many top 10-15 teams as the rest of the top 7 combined.
12-1 LSU is in....imo

The debate will be who gets the top seed between 13-0 LSU and 13-0 Ohio State.
The 2 seed gets Clemson and they now look very formidable.

And the main mystery is still the 4 seed. Fodder for whoever they play anyway. Probably

LOL at the butt hurt fan boys on this site man.

Good lord....

This is the worst OU team in 4-5 seasons.
They haven't played well in over a month.
They lost to a middling KSU team(5-4 in conf) then barely escaped with wins the next 3 weeks winning those 3 games by a grand total of 8 points.
Name recognition is the only reason they have ANY shot at a slot.
I am seriously hopeful they don't get in because they'd just embarrass the Big 12.

Utah on the other hand over that 3 week period outscored their 3 opponents by 90 points. 90!!!
And those 4-5 P12 conf teams are going to Bowl games.

I have zero affiliation with Utah. But I do know football teams and who is playing well or not playing well.

And yes. Clemson is a huge unknown.
They are playing in the worst P5 conference this season. Their SOS ranks 67th. That is 14 spots below Utah.
No P5 NON ACC team ranks below them.
None.

No one is arguing should they GET IN.
With Clemson the discussion is can they win it all.
And it is impossible to say they can given they haven't played anyone with a pulse.

LSU and OSU are the best teams by far.

This thread isn't aging well. Utah looks horrible.

Oregon leads Utah 20-7 with about 10 minutes to go in the 3rd qtr

A VERY long ways to go, but if the lead holds it bodes very well for the Big 12 champ....barring a UGa upset of LSU

Well, I did pick Oregon over Utah in my group "pay pool", so there's that.
Of course, I was also a sucker and picked the Cowboys to pull it out in Chicago.

So, only 1-1 so far this weekend.

Baylor just tied it up with Oklahoma at 10 with 2 minutes left in the 1st half.

Just ...wow... if Baylor makes the Final 4. A LONG ways to go, but that would be pretty wild.

LSU, Clemson, Ohio State....….Baylor? :omg:

So well coached and a great d-line and overall D scheme.
Who knows, maybe they don't lose by 3 TDs, but they sure seem like the outlier.

-------
update

now 13-10 Baylor at halftime
but starting QB Charlie Brewer may be out.

They just weren’t a good team, certainly not as good as some had thought.
I really don't think any of OU, Baylor, Utah, or Oregon are all that great.
UGa is kind of the bridge between them at the top 3 teams.
Imo

I dodged a bullet last night. I am reselling peach bowl tickets and would have been potentially screwed if Utah had won. Who the heck is paying to watch Utah? But they were the paper tiger I thought they were.

Landing the 5 star recruits is an all together different kind of headache. They are all prima donnas and demand immediate playing time or they transfer. Just ask Saban.

WILD one at Jerry World today

OU up on Baylor 23-20 with 5 minutes to go
Baylor's 3rd string QB in and just connect on a 75 yard bomb to get it in the redzone.

But could not get a TD

Now 23-23
3:25 to go

Hold on to your hats

It appears OU and Baylor are a pretty even match this year.
Down to the wire today and big come from behind OU win (34-31) in their first meeting.

A Georgia win is the only thing standing in OU's way now.

I'm sure the SEC would love a narrow UGa win over a not-as-urgent LSU.
Odd situation for the Tigers, as they probably make it, win or lose.

Here's a question:
What if Ohio State loses a very close one to Wisconsin?
The committee could easily argue that a 12-1 Ohio St is still much better than a 12-1 Oklahoma.
Can't see the Badgers winning, but its food for thought.
