2019 Houston Astros Thread

I'd have to demote Tyler White and bring Alvarez.up. Imagine what the run differential would be with Yordan as DH.
Yeah, I like White, he's a nice player, but I just don't think he's long for this team. He might be out of options at this point, they may have to release White, don't know.

Hey amigo! I hope things are going well with you and yours. Heck of a team again this year. I’m hoping they can win another WS championship this year.

Big surprise!

Springer & Correa hurt again.

At least Springer's was baseball related.

I'd seriously question giving Correa a big contract– He simply can't play a full season. Paying $30 mil a season (at least) for a 120 games a season player just doesn't make sense.

Yeah. I'll miss all the Shark attacks but they are few and far between now. It was fun while it lasted but its time to move on.

Gracias Amigo. Same to you and yours. Just think, with all these injuries and the front loaded schedule the Stros have, it's impressive what they're doing.

The Astros have only played 15 games against teams under .500 and are still tearing it up. I want some of these bottom feeders that teams like the Yankees are getting fat on.

I'm with you. If it came down to Correa or Springer, I'd keep Springer. A few of us have been bragging about the farm system for awhile now. Time for them to step it up. Go Astros.

Yeah, same problem here.

Unless Correa is willing to play for a Brantley-like contract(16 mill/per), I just don't think it would be wise for us to pay him.

Discuss the Astros here...
They were the name of my little league baseball team I'd played on as a kid,,, some of those opposing kids dad's were calling me Ty Cobb cuz' I'd modoc the catcher( or any baseman) at home plate sometimes in hoping he'd drop the ball,,,and at that time,I didn't know what the hell a Ty Cobb was,,,er,,, that's all I got fer' contributing participation in this thread,Bro:starspin:

Correa will probably wind up with the Yankees before it’s all said and done. Heck of a glove/arm and good hitter with power but the injury bug is concerning. Springer > Correa

I'm proud of how the Astros are playing, with Springer, Correa and Altuve out of the lineup they have kept on winning. I'll be glad to get these 3 back into the lineup

Best thing the Astros did was rebuilding of the farm team and stop trading away talent for 1 or 2 year deals on vet players.
Actually trading away the little talent they had allowed them to build the team and the farm teams they currently have.

They traded a lot of players over the years for guys who would play 1 or 2 season and they were gone when Gerry Hunsicker was the GM. When Jeff Luhnow took over as GM 1st thing he talked about was rebuilding the farm teams

Not sure what you’re saying regarding my post but my post remains valid.

Just saying many farm league prospects were traded over the years for vets who never stayed long. Hard to build a farm team when you constantly get rid of them for short term players

Not since the new owner took over.

Astros have a "bushel basket" full of outfielders at this point...

Something has to give.

Can't keep Alvarez and Tucker down on the farm forever.
