THE only way I'd be happy with a new gun slinger is if there were also changes at OC and QB coach. Doing anything else without swapping out those two knuckle heads is just rearranging deck chairs on the titanic.

100% agree

What's it going to be then, eh?

I am not happy with Prescott.

But I am also not dumb enough to start scanning FA lists and think any one of them would be an upgrade.

What weaknesses does Foles have that are worse than Dak's, out of curiosity
Foles isn’t a world beater , but he lost his job in Philly because the team wasn’t that good around him. HE couldn’t lift them up. He has a better team and looks better. Dak has really good players around him and it’s noy just that he can’t lift them up, he brings them down. He almost cost us the Philly game. They won in spite of Sak. Foles is more accurate and has a stronger arm.

Dak doesn't have world beaters around him, Rah. I ain't buying the argument that this offense is so talented that Dak is the obvious weak link.

WRs? Coop is good, the others? Average, at best.

TEs? Getting better, but no real threats yet.

Zeke? Great RB, but one long run, or 2 runs in a row, and he looks to be gasping for air...needs to come out. He's no Emmitt, not yet. Without better stamina, he may never be as great as he could be.

Offensive line? They struggle at times, pass blocking AND run blocking.

Linehan? Puhlease. His game plans, and play schemes, pure vanilla. We all know what's coming on most plays, so you KNOW the defense does too.

The defense? Solid, yes, very solid...but still not enough turnovers, and not enough deception to really make most OCs or QBs fearful.

Special teams? Average, at best.

So, no, Dak is not surrounded by Grade A talent all over the offense, he has to make plenty of plays for this offense to be a success. Zeke and the OL are simply not enough.

Foles is a product of a system when he plays well. He would be horrible here. The only realistic option is riding out 2019 and selling out the 2020 draft for a top prospect.

got to disagree, i think he would be great in our clock management , run the ball but pass when you need to scheme.. at least thats what it is when it clicks.

your are what your record says you are... Foles is a superbowl MVP.

He has cooper with Beasley. Beasley is one of the best slot receivers. Gallup is a good number two. That’s more than Flacco, Brady and Rodgers have. It’s also more than r Wilson has.

Coopers been great since the trade and daks inaccuracy has left more than 100 extra yards and two tds in the field for cooper. He left 200 plus and at least 3 tds in the field for Gallup, a top 14 qb makes the pro bowl with this talent. Dak is also responsible for 40 of the sacks.

Granted, the Cowboys organization loves Dak for some reason, so this discussion might be all-for-naught. But contrary to what the "we can't get anyone better than Dak right now" crowd says, there might be a few options, if the Cowboys wanted to explore them.

Here's a list of potential free agent QBs this offseason:

> Teddy Bridgewater -- catastrophic injury is completely behind him now, and he's only 26. Showed flashes in the 2018 preseason. There will probably be a big market for him.

> Nick Foles -- Slated to make $20 million next year, so the Eagles will have to let him go.

> Joe Flacco -- Looks pretty evident that the Ravens are ready to hand the reigns to Jackson. Doubt they'll keep Flacco as their backup

> Jameis Winston -- Pretty much a headcase, but he's 25 and would come relatively cheap.

> Derek Carr -- was playing at an MVP level 2 years ago before getting hurt. Gruden is cleaning house, so may Carr may be purged also.

> Ryan Tannehill -- He'll probably be retained by the Dolphins since they Osweiler is their only other legit QB with experience. But Tannehill has proven he can't lead the Dolphins anywhere, so they may cut bait.

> Josh McCown -- old but reliable. Would he be a good stop gap?

> Brock Osweiler -- has played better with the Dolphins than he did with the Texans or Browns. And he's still only 28.

> Tyrod Taylor -- he's a good leader and has had moderate levels of success. And he's only 29.

> Ryan Fitzpatrick -- Fitzmagic in Big D for a year or two?

Who would you be intrigued by? I'd take 4-5 of these guys over Dak right now.

Door number one Monty Hall (Let's Make A Deal).

:muttley:

Beasley averages 44 catches a year for his career and people talk about him like he's Wes Welker in his prime. The Cowboys receiving corp is not better than any of those you mentioned, but overvaluing our own talent is a Cowboys fan staple.

It’s a run first offense which limits the opportunities. We’ve had a below average q b for three seasons. What do you expect? The off season will tell you everything you need to know. Beasley will leave and try to find a real q b. Dak struggles to read the defense pre snap. He can’t see the whole field, so he misses receivers. He’s not accurate. We’d welkee in his probe would struggle with dak.

Foles and Fitzpatrick here please. Both of them. Oooooooohweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Prolly be scoring like 31-52 points a game plus the defense would be holding foolz to below 21 pts a game. Geeez. It would be insane

Stafford wont be a avail....his contract is 100 mil and he terrible.....hes 5-54 vs any team .500 or better...complete garbage
But the remaining contract would be right about what we would pay Dak. Ive read they just wanna dump him. Me personally I'd go tet Carr whos still young. But either is better than Quicncy prescott.

The available FA QB's aren't really an upgrade IMO, I'd wait and draft one. Also, I would get an OC and QB coach worth a crap.
