Granted, the Cowboys organization loves Dak for some reason, so this discussion might be all-for-naught. But contrary to what the "we can't get anyone better than Dak right now" crowd says, there might be a few options, if the Cowboys wanted to explore them.

Here's a list of potential free agent QBs this offseason:[\QOUTE]

> Teddy Bridgewater -- catastrophic injury is completely behind him now, and he's only 26. Showed flashes in the 2018 preseason. There will probably be a big market for him.[\QUOTE]
Teddy's a promising QB but this is the NFC East. He'll play 3-4 division games in the elements..I don't think he's built for this Division.

> Nick Foles -- Slated to make $20 million next year, so the Eagles will have to let him go.[\QUOTE] Foles could prove to break the norm. I think to the Eagles Fole's is worth the $20. They guarantee and restructure. Wentz is still on rookie contract...his health $100 million for that...ok. But if available I'd definitely bring him to camp.
> Joe Flacco -- Looks pretty evident that the Ravens are ready to hand the reigns to Jackson. Doubt they'll keep Flacco as their backup[\QUOTE]
Joe Flacco is Jeff George with manners lol jk
Leadership skills are yet to be determined..The glare of the Star will eat him alive
> Jameis Winston -- Pretty much a headcase, but he's 25 and would come relatively cheap.[\QUOTE]
Unbelievable arm but can we protect his lack of mobility. I think Linehan would love the pick-up. Linehan is probably torched half his play book after going from Stafford to Dak. I like Dak..I think most the criticism is idiotic. Linehan and Dak can't coexist. Reminds of the OC that loved Hutchinson's arm over Carter's talents.
> Derek Carr -- was playing at an MVP level 2 years ago before getting hurt. Gruden is cleaning house, so may Carr may be purged also.[\QUOTE]
I like Dak but hell yeah! Carr is a baller. Could make training camp great!!
> Ryan Tannehill -- He'll probably be retained by the Dolphins since they Osweiler is their only other legit QB with experience. But Tannehill has proven he can't lead the Dolphins anywhere, so they may cut bait.[\QUOTE]
I haven't really kept up with Dolphins but I think he's a victim of instability. I think the Aggie would love to come home. Easily my biggest YES!! He's a TX kid. But not with Linehan. He'd have no clue how to use this Athlete QB.
> Josh McCown -- old but reliable. Would he be a good stop gap?

> Brock Osweiler -- has played better with the Dolphins than he did with the Texans or Browns. And he's still only 28.

> Tyrod Taylor -- he's a good leader and has had moderate levels of success. And he's only 29.

> Ryan Fitzpatrick -- Fitzmagic in Big D for a year or two?

Who would you be intrigued by? I'd take 4-5 of these guys over Dak right now.
All Backups of stop gap. Tyrod Taylor probably only QB whom could summon championship level play. But I think the Browns have turned the corner. They'll keep Tyrod to backup Stud.

I think it's true we can't get anyone right now better than Dak...none of the QBs below can hold their resume next to Dak's. Dak would get a contract higher than any of the QBs listed below if he were a free agent. Some next HC somewhere will convince another owner they can fix Dak if he a free agent. His intangibles are worth a lot.

Unbelievable arm but can we protect his lack of mobility. I think Linehan would love the pick-up. Linehan is probably torched half his play book after going from Stafford to Romo to Dak. Do you guys watch other teams all those QBs trash except Derek Carr. The complainers would make twice the threads about our QB if we had any of those bums.

Foles is a better QB than Dak....but Jerry loves how many jerseys Dak can sell to his idiotic fan base.

Foles is a system QB. He won't last long in Garrett's scheme of things. He won't be running RPOs or play action. And he'll need protection for longer than 5 seconds. That will spell disaster.

I don't know about everybody else but Foles is the LAST person I want to see as a Cowboy NO way I just can't fathom the idea of selling my football soul to compensate getting a ring off a Philly cheesebum..

HoF or Ryan Fitzpatrick..... those are our only choices

Forget that Dak is 25 has a 95 career Passer Rating......that Top 9 All Time..... closer to HoF

And every 25 year old QB can still develop. Out of the three HOF Brady, Rodgers and Brees, Brees in his third year had a 57 rating and Rodgers still hadn't thrown a pass. That doesn't mean Dak is HOF, but it is clear he still has plenty of time to improve.

Haters like to diss Passer Rating but the 3 HoF QBs Brady, Brees and ARod all are "coincidentally" in the Top5 All Time

Man I wish 25 year old Dak was that good...... what a loser

On top of that he was always a developmental project or it would have taken six premium picks to bring him like it did with Goff. The plan was always to have Dak spend a couple of years refining his mechanics but Romo's injury gave him the opportunity. When it did, he grabbed it and didn't look back. Funny how many fans forget all that.

Listen, im not sure daks the answer, but i can tell you id take dak over everyone on this list except Carr . Carr only scares me because of injury history but i do believe hes better than dak.
I guess bridgewater is intriguing, if he was cheap i wouldnt even mind a qb battle between the 2 but i doubt we throw enough money at him anyhow. The other guys are a combo of too old/not good enough.

There are no high priced free agents coming to Dallas, period. So let’s stop dreaming.

The most likely scenario is that Mike White improves and shows enough in training camp to be the #2. The best case scenario is probably a trade for someone like Nick Mullens, who could do well here.
