Yes. His agilily measurables outside of his 40 and 10 yard slipt were very bad. He is kind of a weird athlete

I will say I think he may have a chance to stick because we are so thin. At 3T of we cut him we are basically looking at Golston as your 2nd 3T. Gallimore is a niche player, but his niche just might be enough. I still think he wont make the roster though
I think Mazi will get snaps at both 3 and 1. He essentially takes Gallimore's roster spot and moves to the top of the depth chart as opposed to the bottom.

About as massive an upgrade as possible. Osa, Gholston, Fehoko, and Mazi make Gallimore unnecessary.

Gholston? C'mon man. Can't believe the guy is still on the team. He's turble
"Gholston made the move from E to T and provided a strong interior pass rush."

Not my words. Seems to me as if he's coming on.

I like the guys we have. Hurts wouldn't be the same under KM and JJ wouldn't be the same with Dak

Hurts has been in the perfect situation for a young QB. Great supporting cast, and great coaching/ownership. His GM has done everything to help thie kid, and it's pretty clear ours hasn't...actually, we don't even have a real GM
If Hurts is drafted by every one of the 32 teams in alternate universes, I would wager there are very few where he really turns out to be anything but a backup. He has been in a dream scenario and has been quite fortunate to land with a team that was willing to work around his deficiencies and amplify his skills. This is not to knock what he did with the Eagles last season, which was incredible, but he was the beneficiary of a very unorthodox offensive strategy that history has shown rarely works outside of a single season or two. I guess we will see if he can sustain his success, but it would likely require a pretty significant improvement throwing the ball from the pocket.

Nail meets head. Same for Dak. You can funnel as many folks around him as possible. Not tier 1. Not gonna win you the big steak. Hurts took the Filthy to the bowl. What if he gets better? Hope not. He's an athlete that won't get younger. I don't want to give Dak this season but I have no choice. 4.needs to win or walk. He would have been jogging by now if I was the GM

Hurts could very easily end up just like Wentz. A severe leg injury that slows down his running ability and defenses no longer have to account for it and play the pass.

Dallas selected:

Jefferson over Lamb
Hurts over Diggs
Gallimore
Gabe Davis over Robinson

Wr was a need. I think we can agree JJ was the pick.

Diggs has the pedigree, size and athleticism to cover anyone. He has played very well.
If Hurts was the pick, would he have taken the QB1 job during the ankle or thumb injuries?
Would you be happier paying Hurts or Dak an albatross contract?
Team would have a hole at CB1 potentially right now. Or they would have missed on Parsons bc they would have been pressed to move up in Draft.

DT was a need. Gallimore was the pick can't really second guess this one.

Gabe Davis. This could have solved the Gallup situation completely.

Hurts over Diggs?? Nah.... with all the talent Hurts has, Kellen Moore is too dumb to have utilized them correctly. Moore would have had Hurts looking bad.

Hurts is Dak...They're basically the same player. Neither will win it for you without great weapons.

Yeah, by the end of the year Golston was playing pretty well. He was getting into the backfield more towards December/January. Really, it isn’t surprising that it would take him a little time to get used to 3T… although he did play inside some at Iowa.

He’s always been a strong guy, especially for an end, which is why Iowa put him inside on some passing downs. As a DT, Golston is very quick and athletic… much more so than at end.

Golston is in Quinn’s plans, IMO. That the OP says he’s “terrible” is telling.

Gallimore is not though, I’m afraid. I just can’t see any way he makes the final roster. The DT’s are going to be much better going forward.

Yeah, and what if the Cowboys had chosen Johnny Manziel over Zack Martin. Then we wouldn't have to worry about Martin holding out because of contract dissatisfaction.

In 2020 the Cowboys desperately needed a CB and chose a LB when the best two CB prospects were taken just ahead of them. Obviously, they should have taken Caleb Farley instead of Micah Parsons.

Perhaps the Cowboys should just consider themselves fortunate for taking Lamb and Diggs, two multiple Pro bowlers early in their careers.

Besides, many are choosing Jefferson over Lamb because they aren't considering the career ending injury to Jefferson in the 2024 season. And, yes, Hurts definitely looks productive prior to the summer of 2025, when he's arrested for soliciting a male escort.

Jefferson was considered overdrafted when MINNY took him in 2020. He was considered a 2nd round talent. Not a single Cowboys fan was grousing about taking Lamb over him. One should never use hindsight when evaluating draft picks. You should only use what you knew/thought at the time.

Should have taken Hurts. He wins the starting job over Dak in no time.

Picking him should have been a no brainer, but we have Jerry - who doesn't have a brain
Quite.
I remember there were several Cowboy fans on here including myself gutted when the Cowboys didn't pick Hurts in the 2nd round and Prescott fans absolutely delighted they passed on a future All-Pro QB on a rookie salary.

Delighted?

I'm a Dak fan and I am annually disappointed that Cowboys management can't understand the concept of competition and how it would make both players better regardless of who actually started.

I'm a Cowboys fan before I am a Dak fan and if the Cowboys were to find someone better then I am still a Dak fan so long as he continues to wear the uniform. That doesn't mean I think he shouold start if there is another on the team that is clearly better.
