yep or he could be a complete bust…for several possible reasons. it did look like he was developing chemistry with Giddy in the summer league though

Very good game between Warriors and Nuggets. Nuggets were ON and had the lead for most of the game, taking command end of the 1st qtr, then as high as 20, but Warriors fought back nicely slowly chopping away in the 2nd half.

124-119 with 20.1 secs to Draymond at the line for 2 and makes both. On the inbound Bones gets trapped, throws it wildly under the basket to Poole who lays it in. Then comes the play of the game. Jokic inbounds and tosses it 3/4 court, catches Thompson napping, Brown slams it in, 126-123. 13 to go.

Thompson misses a 3 with 9 left, game over after Jokic make 2 FT's.

Early excitement in the NBA.

I'm concerned about Klay. He looked noticeably rough last year (understandably so) but also had some nice moments. I really thought he was going to use this offseason to reshape his body and train because he looked soft to me. I figured he had to compromise a bit on that end simply due to the vigorous rehab schedule. Then I found out (I'm late) he didn't play any five-on-five this off-season due to some mental block. Kerr and the training staff have him on limited minutes as he works himself back into shape and he's been struggling on both ends of the court.

Even if you removed the injuries, he's still 32-years old, so he's not going to move like he's 19 or 20-years old anymore. That said, he can regain some quickness and explosiveness if he commits to transforming his body. Right now it looks like he hasn't lifted a weight in five years. I think his shooting touch eventually comes back to where he's an effective spot up shooter, but he's become a liability offensively in transition and on the defensive end.

Defense was always a big part of what made Klay such a valuable peice to that team

Klay has had a nice string of 4-5 games offensively. He’s still struggling in transition though and defensively though.

Season is still early, but Cavs and Pelicans are both near the top of their conferences and are the only teams (including the Suns) ranked top 10 in offensive and defensive efficiency. Doubt it will happen, but it would be kinda cool to see Cavs and Pelicans in the Finals. Not only are they two young teams with deep rosters, but each team was basically built from the resources received from getting rid of LeBron and AD, who are both currently on a terrible Lakers team. That would be kinda funny.

Cavs perimeter D can get exploited in the playoffs, thats there biggest hurdle. They have nice rim protectors to help, but I think they could struggle with Butler, Brown, Lavine, or Atlanta's duo

Because they only have 1 primary ball handler and he is a 6'8" small forward lol.
They built a team around him of 3 and D guys or rim rollers.
An achilles heel they gotta address that's for sure.

Lottery odds are insane and it's all so luck based now.
