And just because I enjoy data over say, conjecture/fandom, this article I’ve posted before shows at least performance-wise other than his rookie year he’s always been overrated (which is different than saying he wasn’t good)

Demarco Murray comes to mind as someone who did similar or more with the same or less (particularly organizational support, i.e. Jerry and Stephen, but none of the accolades imho.)

Just shows how unserious we are about winning. They got us still talking about the dez catch like that prevented a ring lol.

There’s people that still think the earth is flat. No amount of evidence will convince the Zeke Boyz that he’s washed.
The funniest are those few advocating we let Pollard go but keep Zeke.

I mean, the smart move is probably let both go but advocating keeping Elliott over Pollard?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

What’s ridiculous is that 100% of the fan base knows Zeke is washed and is ready for him to go.

The problem is, the only two people in the world who don’t see it happen to be in charge of the team
Sobering and true.

Wow. I knew Tony was exceptional, but this really put things into perspective. His pass blocking stat is very surprising and I'd be interested to go back and watch some film. It never felt like he held up as well as Zeke, but that could just be preconceived based on previous years. Keep Tony, let Zeke go unless he takes a cut to vet minimum, and draft a bull regardless. Well done Mr Pollard!

he was never OVERRATED jeez

came into the league with rushing title , if not for suspension in 10 games in 17 he led the league at like 106 YPG mean another title was coming ,and bam 2018 anther rushing title and in 2019 was still good even though that began the transition..

He has better numbers then Terell Davis in the first 7 years in the league... last year limited snaps and 15 games near 900yards and 12 tds.. sure hes overpaid now but he earned that deal make no mistake he was everything they thought he would for the first 4 years.. injuries , OL changes, OC changes, and what not derailed his production but he still had games both last 2 years first half number before injuries were near 5YPC.. sorry man the Zeke and dak hate get old.

you do not get a career 8300 yards rushing 68 tds 4.4 YPC 2300 receiving yards and 12 tds by being overrated OMFG dudes are trolls

Overrated NOPE , overpaid NOW, yes

why dont you compare their college careers, and their first 4 years in the league..zeke was heads and tails better .. you wont cherry pick one year to make point. hes a Dallas Cowboy , deserves respect frit hat career not hate!!

OH want to debate Pollard also drop off last 6 games ZERO Tds , Last 4 games of the regular season on top of ZERO Tds, 3.8 YPC and 51 YPC no big impact plays we were used and had games under 2 YPC like say both games against Washington averaged ONE 1 YPC TB game 1 ,1.8 YPC against zekes 5, how about other games sprinkled in where he wasnt a factor at all. explain the more he was used he being to be slowed down, hes a complimentary back was in college , is now.

lets calm down on the zeke Pollard comps 2 different types of backs where one was a blue chip prospect and heavily used started from college through 2019 and is a far better back.. now sure hes used up but pullease , stop acting as if pollards the next Dorsett he not even the next zeke.

I like pollard but just stop...

I see very few people in here trying to prop up Zeke anymore. Most of his biggest fans know he is done.
unnecessary to bash the man too many of those so I'm here lets go! thios oP is clueless, call the guy overrated outside of 2016 is dumb..

Yep, they've been quite lately.
IM back and il defends the guy just because his career is coming to an end no need to bash the man and call him overrated. That so far from the truth..but hey have your hatefest for homegrown talent..

gets old

#3 rushing tds
#1 first downs
#1 in turnovers with 0
NFL rankings. Tell the whole story not cherry picking stats

Honestly won’t be surprised if zekes still gone….what Jerry thinks could be reasonable is probably different than what zeke does. Still think and hope there’s a chance zeke is gone.

I stand corrected.

Answer me one question. When Pollard went down vs the 9ers did you know our run game was effectively done for the day? I did, and that's the moment I realized I could no longer justify keeping Zeke.

His carries have become wasted downs, far too often. He's no longer a difference maker, and I wouldn't want to retain him at a league minimum contract. It's not personal, but we can't waste downs with Zeke any further.

Then factor in the type of offense MM wants and I see a lot more Aaron Jones than I do Zeke Elliott. Give me Pollard and a rookie, or the Texas back in the draft. Time to move forward.

Zeke has shown signs of going down hill since 2018. Jerry giving him that ridiculous contract is one of the worst moves he has made as the GM.

Excellent post. Demarco Murray is the only reigning NFL offensive MVP in NFL history to change teams. We correctly surmised that the running game was largely a product of the great OL and let him walk. We then signed Darren McFadden off the NFL FA scrap heap and he turns in a 1k season. So, it makes no sense for us to keep Zeke. I am not even sure we should resign Pollard. We need to reinforce the OL. Both of these guys could be replaced pretty cheaply in the draft.
