You are absolutely correct.There is another side to that making the playoffs in back to back seasons, validation that real changes need to be made in how this team is operated.
Anything that allows Booger & Son to say "see, we know what we're doing" is not in the best interest of 6th ring seekers.
Failure can bring pressure and pressure can bring change. Pressure in the form of media criticism of management. He wins the East again, job well done to him and enough to keep the fans coming.
But we’d need failure of epic proportions for several years not only on the field but ticket sales and revenue to plummet which isn’t likely . Even then it’s not clear if it brings about the changes that are really needed from the top.
I’m afraid the fix is in and we’re stuck in this perpetual pendulum of drama driven by relative and interesting until death does us part for better or worse. A marriage from hell with our ownership. The good news is at age 80 the end is nearer. It is what it is .
