Nothing? That isn't true and quite a few rookies have contributed. Mazi, Schoonmaker, Aubrey, Luepke, Richards, and Bass have all contributed.
This rookie class is not gonna have year 1 pro bowlers, All pros and weekly stat headliners.
Seems like more like a developmental class and immediate limited roles

- For a guy that was touted as the best run stuffer DT in the NFL draft, Mazi is more behind than i thought he'd be.
But he is getting necessary reps and snaps behind Hankins, he could be a much better player at season's end.

- Schoon for the time being is gonna have a James Hanna in-line blocker role as No.2 at this point.
Dunno about his receiving skills, but it definitely needs much developing and I dunno how many chances
he will get in this struggling dink n dunk offense to really display.
I'm still baffled why Schoon was selected so high, when we already had Ferguson next in line from Schultz
I don't believe in drafting strictly blocking TEs in the 2nd rd.

- Overshown IR really hurts - looked instinctive in very limited time seen.
- Richards, Scott, Vaughn, Brooks and Junior F. all seems headed to " red shirt" game inactive reserve for 2023.
- Undrafted Bass and Hunter seem more apt to get game active time than the aforementioned " red shirt"
draft picks. So long as Hunter is touching the ball, he helps in those areas best. Coaches trying to force him
to be John Kuhn as a lead blocker- and he's more of a big RB, than physical knocking lead FB.
Bass seems savvy and edgy but his limited physical tools shows up vs more athletic DTs
- Rookie FG kicker Aubrey has been very reliable since his only missed Xtra pt. try in game one.
Frankly I don't even worry about him missing a FG/Xtra pt. - Kudos to the Bones for this gem find.

Our premium picks were spent on an NT and TE, which are never immediate contributors.

Mazi's doing fine... I'm not going to say he's good, but he's not bad. "Invisible and kind of sucky" is how most stud NTs' rookie seasons went, so he is on schedule.

Schoon just isn't showing anything. For a reach pick on a 25yo player, that's bad.

Overshown would be playing if he didn't blow his knee out. That one was a real bummer for me, because he was my favorite Cowboys draft pick of this class.

rookies can only contribute if the coaches use them enough and do that wisely.
They drafted duece but dont know how to use him, same for luepke and schoon who has 2-3 te in front of him.
Idiot coaches can make rookies look worse than they are.

...They drafted duece but dont know how to use him...
31 other NFL teams didn't know how to use him either, which is why they didn't draft him. How do you use a RB that cannot block, cannot break a tackle, and cannot move a pile?

When Deuce fails, it will not be because he wasn't used properly.

First…no team should ever put themselves in a spot where they count on rookies to be key contributors, unless youre in a full rebuild.

We needed an interior OL and a RB last draft. Instead we got a backup TE and a LB who blew out his knee. Didn’t exactly go our way, but also why you don’t go counting on it to produce fruit immediately.

Contributed to a above average team not - CLEARLY - a championship team but then those who bleat about season wins care not for actually winning it all.
You have to play the entire season before you win it all and to complain now after a 4 and 2 start isn’t good. Let the season play out.

1st play against the 49ers, Schoonmaker was open for at least a 20 yard gain and Dak misfired the pass over his head.

Bass is an interior linemen and Richards might be.

Overall, I believe that Dallas is the best drafting team in the NFL over the past 10 years. There are several metrics that have been thrown around like "pro-bowls" and "still in the league after XX" years that have been posted here. If you have a long term issue with Dallas' drafting, I question your objectivity.

This past draft doesn't look good though. It should get some time as many players need a season to acclimate. The team would need many of them to turn around to consider this a good class though.
Overshown looks like a player.

Your first and second rd picks SHOULD contribute right away. So far not much there.
Mazi is an unknown and we will see
Our TE was over drafted but what is is

I believe they would have contributed more.....on a less talented team.

There were some Cowboys teams where Schoonmaker, Asim Richards, Eric Scott and Jalen Brooks would have seen significant snaps, perhaps even starts.

I'm relieved that we don't have to throw them out there. However, I do expect to see more from a few of them as the long season progresses.

They are not the best drafting class. Idk how you can make this assessment. Just cuz Jerry over pays his draftees does not make them good
