This rookie class is not gonna have year 1 pro bowlers, All pros and weekly stat headliners.Nothing? That isn't true and quite a few rookies have contributed. Mazi, Schoonmaker, Aubrey, Luepke, Richards, and Bass have all contributed.
Seems like more like a developmental class and immediate limited roles
- For a guy that was touted as the best run stuffer DT in the NFL draft, Mazi is more behind than i thought he'd be.
But he is getting necessary reps and snaps behind Hankins, he could be a much better player at season's end.
- Schoon for the time being is gonna have a James Hanna in-line blocker role as No.2 at this point.
Dunno about his receiving skills, but it definitely needs much developing and I dunno how many chances
he will get in this struggling dink n dunk offense to really display.
I'm still baffled why Schoon was selected so high, when we already had Ferguson next in line from Schultz
I don't believe in drafting strictly blocking TEs in the 2nd rd.
- Overshown IR really hurts - looked instinctive in very limited time seen.
- Richards, Scott, Vaughn, Brooks and Junior F. all seems headed to " red shirt" game inactive reserve for 2023.
- Undrafted Bass and Hunter seem more apt to get game active time than the aforementioned " red shirt"
draft picks. So long as Hunter is touching the ball, he helps in those areas best. Coaches trying to force him
to be John Kuhn as a lead blocker- and he's more of a big RB, than physical knocking lead FB.
Bass seems savvy and edgy but his limited physical tools shows up vs more athletic DTs
- Rookie FG kicker Aubrey has been very reliable since his only missed Xtra pt. try in game one.
Frankly I don't even worry about him missing a FG/Xtra pt. - Kudos to the Bones for this gem find.
