This FA class and draft class is DEEP at RB. Will all depend on Pollard’s price tag. Best bet is to cut Zeke, try and re-sign Pollard or add a solid RB through FA, and then draft the future in round 2 or 3.

I'd perfer to sign Pollard or Jamaal Williams at 8m max. Then cut Zeke and draft somebody.

Jamaal Williams and a RB in the draft would be a downgrade at the position for next season. I think Dallas has to keep at least one of either Pollard or Elliott.

Jamaal is a good back and could likely be had at 4-5m/yr. My preference would be to bring back Pollard and draft a guy to replace Zeke. I'm a Zeke fan but his price can't be justified in any way.

Would it be a downgrade if you spent the money saved on OL? I think guys like mostert Jeff Wilson and rake would do fine and save us a lot of money that we could use in the trenches or to sign our home grown stars.

They can still improve the OL and keep Pollard.

Forget Mostert, he is highly inconsistent in his career. He's never put together back-to-back good seasons and will be 31 next year. Wilson works as part of a running back by committee as mostly the #3 guy. He was the #1 guy with the 49ers this year and they decided that wasn't good enough and replaced him mid-season.

Pollard and Jamaal would be a decent combo. I have no confidence in Jamaal and a rookie.

I don't think Stephen pays him and that's sad. He barely has any typical RB wear and tear on his body and he's absolutely a weapon.

What type of comp pick will the Cowboys get when he leaves via FA? 3rd? 4th?

Hate to see him go but he deserves his payday. I just don't see it here with Dem Boyz. :(

Imagine hunt, Tony Pollard Elliott in the same backfield. Who needs wide receivers. Draft another lineman

They replaced jw with CMC. That's not an indictment imo. Cmc is better than all but a handful of rbs.

We're not talking your old bell cow approach anymore. If you want a feature back yes pollard is better. If you want to go rbbc and save money for other areas of the team mostert is injury prone but very good. Same with Wilson and Drake. I prefer not go over 5m for a rb. Get the best you can at that price or go bargain bin and draft one in the middle rounds. You can find guys like e.mitchell, d.pierce, m.carter, r.stevenson, gainwell and Hubbard and get solid production. I rather invest and let the OL do heavy work.

Even it were Bijan Robinson, this board would crash if the Cowboys selected another RB in the first round.

Maybe, but it'd be a smart move. We are a run heavy team. Might as well get the best running back we can get. Especially if we're going to be releasing Zeke.

Sure it is an upgrade with CMC, but the 49ers didn't even bother to keep Wilson as the #2 back to help McCaffery. It isn't as if the other running backs on that team have done much of anything this year. Samuel is their next leading rusher. San Francisco has gone mostly running back by committee the last several years. It is very telling they didn't keep Wilson as part of that committee. If Dallas brought him in as a #3 back, that might work, but I wouldn't bring him in as the second option.

They have e.mitchell who was great as a rookie. That's too many rbs on one team. It makes sense to get what you can for him.

Wilson was traded bc Mitchell is coming back soon. They didn't want to get rid of Wilson but they did it out of respect to him bc he wanted to have a role. It's not bc Wilson isn't a decent back.

With that list, it is going to be a competitive market, but I betting there will be some restructuring or something done to keep him here. Franchise tagging or something. I think it would be close to 10 Mil. I think the days of overpaying an RB are over.
