Salary cap: $33.8M

OBJ seems like an inevitable signing - 3/$33M (first year cap hit $8.5M)
Pollard 3/$30M ($7M)

LVE 1/$3.5M
Peters 1/$1.9M (same as last season)

Draft pick salary cap $3M

Draft

Rd. 1(26) Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia
Rd. 2(58) Keeanu Benton, DT, Wisconsin
Rd. 3(90) Demarvion Overshown, LB, Texas
Rd. 4(128) Mekhai Becton, CB, USC
Rd. 5(161) Kendre Miller, RB, TCU

The reason I picked Washington with our first pick is because I think our 2 biggest needs are TE and LB. There’s no way I can see the type of offense our HC and OC want to run with Ferguson and Hendershot as the primary TEs, nor will we ever be able to run any 2TE sets with them. Washington is a huge, athletic target for Dak who can make contested catches and turn them upfield, while also serving as an extra OL in the run game. It just makes too much sense to me to take him in the end of the first round.

The team does not make decisions based on restructures. They can do those anytime.
- The cost to keep vs cut a player is that players base salary for the upcoming season.
- i.e. Cutting Zeke saves his 10.9M base salary regardless of whether that shows up as cap space in 2023 or 2024.

Why would they cut they players before training camp. That's absurd.

Turpin was the starting punt returner all of 2022.

McKeon played snaps on offense in all game starting with game 6 thru to the 49ers game.

Devante Bond, Matt Waletzko and Devin Harper were all picks targeted to contribute in the 2nd year.

Fine. Think of them as players that I think can be easily replaced or upgraded on the 53, or are redundant. Whether that happens in July/August or whenever. The rest still stands. I used the only contract prediction I could find for OBJ and Pollard is an educated guess, more or less.

OBJ doesn't solve WR. And that contract seems rich.

What TEs are available at 26? Are you assuming Mayer and Kincaid are off the board?

I think the cuts are way off and half those guys will be retained. I really like the draft, specifically picks 2-5. They would all contribute next year and the value looks good, they're not unrealistic picks. I wouldn't want to pick a TE in the first but I can't argue that Washington isn't a unique prospect.

The main impression I’m getting is that they want both Zeke and Pollard back for next year and they really want OBJ. The OBJ contract was what, I believe PFF, predicted. I think they’ll work out a contract for Pollard to lessen his cap hit.

Technically, if you cut Elliott pre-June 1, he saves $4.9 million against this year's cap. While you cut his base salary of $10.9 million off the books, you still have to account for pro-rated signing bonus, option bonus and restructure hits in future years. If you make him a June 1 cut, yit allows you to save $10.9 million (the base salary) because you don't have to account for all the prorated/restructure money in this year. You can split it between 2023 and 2024 (basically all the 2023 prorated/restructure money is advanced against the cap this year, while the remaining prorated/restructure money for 2024 and 2025 has to be advanced in the 2024 league year).

One note, if you designate him a June 1 cut, even before June 1, you have to carry his full cap charge until June 1. In other words, you can't count on his cap savings of $10.9 million until June 1.

right and that is why the Boys will wait until they can save 10.9 mil after the june 1st threshold and use that excess cap to help sign Diggs.
