CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
There will eventually be a cap.
No one except fans of top 5 programs want championships to be won by the same 5 schools all the time.
It was awesome when Bama rebuilt into a powerhouse it was boring when Saban sustained it for a decade plus.

UT was special with Vince Young. That was awesome. But it meant more because they weren't consistently great.

You'll still see big-time players and big-time teams. You just won't see those teams stay great long-term IMHO.
Parity is key. Its why the NFL ratings are so insanely high.
Its why private equity is willing to put up 9 BILLION to get a 70-team league.
I think its going to get so much worse and complicated. Its the wild west right now. Dave Portnoy just said that he is going to personally buy Michigan a QB for 2-3M a year. Thats where this is going. No cap. No transfer rules. Kids are already choosing to red shirt if they don't get enough playing time to preserve their market value. Most of the these kids will never play a down in the NFL, so college becomes their prime earning years and those eligibility years are like gold.

Some good games coming up in week 7

#2 Ohio State at # 3 Oregon....wow

#1 Texas vs #18 Oklahoma...Red River shootout...though there's a chance it could get ugly

#9 Ole Miss at #13 LSU....old school rivalry and both are ranked this time

Some other too, but those three are pretty good

What is the percentage of FBS college football players that even get a contract?
.01% probably
So for 99.99% its not going to happen.
AND lets be straight here: the money in NIL and elsewhere is going to those that almost certainly will be part of that .01%
so all of this is for an extremely tiny minority.
yet the effects will be one way or another on so many of the rest
I wonder if anyone who is involved in all of this even thinks about that

Army is heading toward 6-0 start, but obviously have played nobody yet.
But man, are they putting up numbers

Will be interesting when they meet Notre Dame but unless injuries cripple them the annual War of the Academies is going to be a great game this year

alabama barely escaped again. Beginning to think this team is not all it was cracked up to be or the new coach is not as good as thought

Too many people dismiss the importance of Tradition; but it was Army that decided to stop playing Notre Dame.

Texas path to a championship is so easy this year...the best QB they may play all season is Carson Beck and even he is not that good. Win next week vs. Georgia and they should have a cakewalk to the #1 seed in the playoff

GA is very dangerous so they better have their helmets strapped on tight

Ohio State meltdown at the end...6 seconds left was too risky. Should have just had the QB run up the middle to pick up a few more yards for the FG

Colorado coaches are so bad. 3 minutes left and a 4 point lead vs a QB that is struggling with accuracy and they are running 0 blitzes. Of course they give up 90 yards in 3 plays and lose the game.
