My priority list:

1. LB - we have to get a run stuffing MLB with range, this is the biggest need of the team but unless there is an absolute stud available, we won't take one in rd 1, probable RD 2 pick.

2. OT - I personally think Steele will be better next year, but Tyron is to the point that we need to have his successor in the room. I thought it was going to be Tyler but he's been so good I don't think the plan is to move him from LG any longer. Probable 1st RD pick.

3. RB - We have to have the bell cow who can pound the ball inside all game when needed. TP just isn't that guy. I don't mind taking the best RB in RD 1 if that's who you want, but you better take one early no matter what. RD 3 target.

4. OG - Zack is still great but I see the start of the decline, + he may retire sooner rather than later and there is still a chance Tyler Smith could be moved to LT. No 4th rd pick as of now so RD 5 target.

5. WR - I haven't seen enough from anyone except Lamb to be satisfied with what we have. Taking one this deep is a crap shoot so this may be a later round flyer. RD 6.

6. OL
- C, OG, OT any and all quality OL men should be added for depth and competition. RD 7.

We have the steak of last year’s draft in Asim Richards to fill in at LT. Round 1 should be BPA regardless of position. We need help all over but especially at LB, S and RB.

Agree…plug major holes in FA and BPA at money positions early.

Would love a Hanks type DT and a swing OT in FA.

When the Cowboys have Lost:

Cooks 2 catches 17 yards
Cooks 1 catch 6 yards
Cooks 1 catch 7 yards
Cooks 2 catches 10 yards

If this forum honestly thinks wideout is not the glaring #1 need.... I'm gonna hang it up, jk but cmon!
Don't be lazy do some research!

cowboys need WIDEOUT!!!!!
Cowboys are 7-2 with the new offense. There are far bigger needs than WR.

CeeDee Lamb
Brandin Cooks
Michael Gallup
Jalen Tolbert
KaVontae Turpin
Jalen Brooks

Plus the PS guys.

Already on the roster.

Where?

Asim Richards has slow feet. Im not sure he can play LT at this level as a starter.

Martin has still been very good but not the best Guard in Football anymore like the last years.

I am sure we will see 100s of varying opinions on what is needed before we actually draft. As usual the draft will be 2 things, where we draft and who is available and biggest of all is who is the best player available hopefully at a position of need based on Will McClay. Pretty sure, as fans, we will have it mostly wrong. Hopefully we are drafting around 31 or 32 meaning all the true 1st round prospects will be long gone barring a miracle so I wouldn't be surprised to see a trade down for someone wanting a QB that is projected 2nd round but want the 5th year option if they could get the right trade.

Also, we have to be aware of the free agent market and who we might target but also as usual, highly doubt we go for a big name guy in the 1st week or two of free agency.

First things first, we probably extend Dak for 5 years at somewhere between $250 and $300 million for the 5 years and Lamb will most likely get his extension at around Jefferson money whatever that is going to be this offseason. Parsons will also most likely get extended in the offseason. Most likely cuts would be Gallup, Rush, and Vander Esch. Rework contracts, there will be a couple at least depending on how Dak, Lamb, and Parsons contracts are structured. Salary cap projection for 2024 is expected to be around $255 million according to Vegas odds.

For resigning of our own free agents, probably Tyron Smith OT for a one year deal, could see them resign Pollard on a 5 year deal that only really is a 3 year deal, Armstrong DE on a 1 year deal, Igbenoghine on probably a 2 year deal, Hankins after the season starts on a 1 year deal, Dowdle on a one year deal, Seig on a one year deal, and believe we move on from Kearse, Dowdle, Gilmore, Edoga, Biadasz, Gallimore, and Fowler.

For me and my opinion, I think we look for a DT in free agency for someone like Reader or Pierce or Kinlaw. They all should be reasonable priced run stoppers. Also, wouldn't be a bit surprised to see them sign Derrick Henry at about $5 million a year for 2 years as the inside runner and move Pollard back to the scat back.

Could see them move Bass to OC and move Ross into the swing OG or LG if they move Smith out to OT but really think Smith stays at LG mainly do to how Richards has developed and understand Bostick has looked very good in practice plus they are high on Waletzko as a potential left or right tackle. I do think Steele will be much better next year when fully healed. Still probably look for a OL in 3rd or 4th and definitely UFA.

LB seems to be the big question although we get Overshown back and probably add one in free agency but one in the 2nd is likely.

WR could be in the 3rd or 4th round or 7th, just don't see one in FA. Think is definitely will be a speed guy but also won't be surprised if we don't draft one based on what we have in reserve with Bryant and Cropper. Now if a guy like Odunze falls to the bottom of 1st then I would have no problem taking him.

CB is a likely 1st round guy depending on who is there but remains to be seen how much they like the guys they have like Igenoghine and others.

DE is always a possibility especially if it is a guy that McClay likes.

Anyway, hoping we go along ways in the playoffs and not have to worry about this until last February.
