Game 5 tonight, Dodgers vs Padres. I’m not sure who I want the Mets to face, probably SD since LA has their number.

I wouldn’t let him pitch again!
what choice do we have? Maton is a gas can and cannot be trusted. . Stanick is good for one day but usually sucks if he has to pitch back to back. Reed is hit or miss. Buto looks like he forgot how to pitch in the post season. We have to live or die with Diaz. I believe he has a deal with the National Heart Doctors association if there is one. I always thought McGill would be better in the bullpen but now is not the term to learn if he can handle it.

I know but a very big blown save is coming, probably game 6 or 7. Offseason priority #1 is to find a new, reliable closer.

next year is an odd year and he usually performs well in odd years. Go figure. Plus he is two years into a 5 year 100 million dollar contract with a full no trade clause. I hope he does not have to pitch tonight. Need him to have a couple of days off since he threw a ton of pitches Monday. Go offense!!!

I forgot about the NTC

I would still find another who can take over if need be.

Mets are in a hole again. I don't know if they can pull themselves out again. But tonight is a big game. Alvarez just looks lost at the plate. But he has looked lost all year long. Last night he made a big error that allowed the 1st two runs to score. I agree he has to play over Torrens but knowing that is an automatic out in the NLCS is not comforting. Get it together Alvie...

Welp, it was fun while it lasted for the Mets

I am still surprised they made it this far considering the hitting and pitching woes. There are too many easy outs in the lineup and I hope it gets addressed in the offseason, starting with Catcher. I’m not sold on giving Alonso the bag, he is way too streaky.

I agree. The clock is striking midnight for Cinderella. I agree on Alonso. Move Vientos to 1st base. His production would be more consistent with Pete and he won't cost 30 million. Bring a starter in and fix the damn bullpen. The team was just over matched by the Dodgers.

I don't understand why baseball still tries to compete with football. The world series needs to be in August. It is not 1975 or 1985 when baseball was the national pastime. The baseball playoffs and world series are now completely eclipsed by the NFL and college football. Football owns the fall and baseball should adapt or continue its descend into obscurity. They need to play these games when the nation has nothing to watch but the WNBA and golf.

On the same level as the SB now being played in February . Should be Jan 15 and season over . Too many playoff teams leads to longer seasons in baseball football hockey & basketball . Very rarely does an 8 seed or a hanging by its finger nails baseball wildcard lead to anything .

Sure the Texas Rangers won the WS last year as a wildcard but they led the West the entire year , they lost the division last game of regular season they were a solid playoff team .

Proud of the Mets for making it that far considering their playoff chances at the beginning of the season. Shore up on some FA pitching and hitting and try again in 2025.

I won't watch one inning of the World Series. Two teams I just do not like.
