I still can’t believe the Mets made it after that terrible first half with mediocre pitching and hitting :flagwave:

Hey Tabasco. Go Mets-Mondays game against the Braves was epic. I wish they would have swept them especially after all the heart break that team has caused the Mets over the past 25 years. Last nights game showed the same grit they have had the past few months. Hopefully they can keep it up. As a Mets fan tho, I keep waiting for Midnight to hit and the Mets turn back to a pumpkin. Hopefully Monday against the Braves buried those demons.

Mets achilles heel of their bullpen did them in again last night. As a Mets fans we start getting nervous in the 5th inning trying to figure out how many out are left and who can manage them. Diaz has had a terrible year and the guys in the 7th and 8th innings have been mostly bad. Last night, Maton was serving up 88 mph batting practice fastballs. You knew right from the start of the 8th it was not going to end well.

Amazins doing amazin things. I was expecting pete to hit into a double play to end it but he hit it over the fence. First time in history a player hits a hr to take the lead in the 9th inning or later in a winner take all final game. Congrats Pete. You are still not worth 35 million a year.

Is that right? Didn't the Mets beat Arizona in the playoffs one year in the 90s on a walkoff homer to take the series or was that just one of the games? Edit: you said winner take all and I don't think that game was. My bad.

As for this game, I passed a bar on the way home and saw that they were down 2-0 in the 8th so I thought they'd lost it so didn't even bother turning the game on at home and didn't check until just now. Can't count out Mets Madness!

Marcus, from what I read it's not the 1st time in mets history it is the first time in baseball history. The homerun you are talking about turned into a grand slam single thanks to Todd pratt.

Senga is starting game 1. He has only pitched one game this year. This should be interesting. If theyake it to the world series he may be up to 90 pitches by then. Go mets

Any time a New York beats up a Philly team, it is a good day. Thank you Mets. Now onto Yankees.

Come on my beloved Yankees. Come on Cole!

It's an even year. He only performs during odd years. May as well.keep him around until end of 2025.

What a game tonight. That was so intense. Not sure how it would have gone if went to extra innings. Phillies batters in the 9th all went to 2 strikes with 2 outs before getting a hit or walk. That was crazy.

Not sure if either Phillies or Mets can hang with LA or Padres - but this series will be interesting.

I don't understand why baseball still tries to compete with football. The world series needs to be in August. It is not 1975 or 1985 when baseball was the national pastime. The baseball playoffs and world series are now completely eclipsed by the NFL and college football. Football owns the fall and baseball should adapt or continue its descend into obscurity. They need to play these games when the nation has nothing to watch but the WNBA and golf.
