2025-26 NBA Season

Don't fool yourself for a second. That last game vs Spurs meant something for OKC. For a team that rarely even loses, to lose 3 straight games when all their starters played was in their head. They needed that win for confidence even if they won last year's NBA Finals. I saw all their games against SA and you could see the visible frustration on their faces. I believe SA is fully capable of taking them down in the 7 game Playoffs.

I agree but you can say the same thing about the previous games. All those games meant more to OKC than the Spurs. It goes both ways.

I guess. Just frustrated with all the comments on "OKC is soooo good they just drink margaritas and tolerate the other team."

Let's not annoint these guys like they're a Chicago Bulls threepeat.

I mean I’m victim of that. I just haven’t seen a team built like that ever and I admire it. Spurs have done a good job to. My money is on a motivated OKC team come playoff time.

I’m kind of confused if they are working Wemby in snow or if he’s hurt. His dominance isn’t showing as much as it did earlier.
 
Man it’s such a joy to see Cooper progress. It’s scary good how he is right now. We are looking at a guy who may be the best Mav of all time when it’s all said and done. Yes better than Luka. Got some ways to go. But man at 19 I just haven’t seen anything like this since Lebron.

And Knueppel my goodness. Hes gonna be a problem to.

I mean he always is.

There's a few more I'd take over Luca. Blackman, Aguirre, Kidd, maybe Harper and Finley. Tarpley was a real beast for a short time.

I mean due to longevity yes. But if Luka had been here 20 years yeah I would’ve said Luka probably over takes him. I also don’t think Luka will ever win a ring so it’s a tough question. Dirk was a far more effecient shooter and scorer but also in a different era. Luka cries when he gets called for a foul. Dirk got his teeth knocked out by Karl Malone. They put him through it.

Yeah no way in hell I can say those guys. Mike Finley will forever be my favorite Mav of all time. He was unselfish and pro when this organization didn’t deserve him.

Had he played in today’s game he would be Anthony Edwards. He’d be one of the best. Today’s game is so fast past its inflating a lot of stats.

Derrick Harper better than Luka is a wild statement.

I’m not even one of the biggest Luka fans I’m one of the few who agrees with trading him especially if it results in getting Flagg.

You're only considering Offense. Luca is a terrible defender.

Now, if you want to say Luca is the best scorer of all time as a Mav, I might agree, though Aguirre would be dang close.

Luca Offense: 9.5. (Only because I don't give 10s)
Luca Defense: 2

So, why aren't you considering Luca's terrible D in your evaluation of him? Last season he had the highest blow by rate in the NBA. And the Lakers are still losing more than they should due to a bad D.

I consider his defense which is why I wanted him traded. But in a league where everyone scores 130 points a game….i hold offense in higher regard. Dirk also wasn’t a good defender he just didn’t have to be because he could be hidden next to a 5 like Tyson Chandler.

I think Finley is a grossly underrated player for the Mavs.

Jason Kidd is one of the best PGs of all time.

I'd have to look closer, which I'm not all that interested in, but Luca doesn't make my top 5. Even in today's NBA, you gotta play some D.

It’s really bizarre that you are making this argument. No one anywhere would say that Luka is the greatest Mav of all time over Dirk Nowitzki. I’ve never once heard that argument.

And when you have to rely on hypotheticals and made up scenarios, you have lost the debate. Who cares if Luka would’ve been here for 20 years? HE WASN’T! So it doesn’t matter.

Due to longevity, Michael Irwin is the greatest Cowboys wide receiver of all time. But if Terrell Owens had been here for 15 years, he would have been the greatest Cowboy of all time. Therefore, TO is the greatest Cowboys WR of all time in your book? That’s the same kind of crazy nonsense that you are putting forth.

Let’s throw some more facts on this argument.
Dirk was a Maverick for 21 years. During that timeframe as a Maverick, he was a 14 time All-Star, 12 time all NBA team team, 7th all-time in NBA scoring, NBA champion, NBA finals MVP, and NBA league wide MVP.

Luka only played for the Mavs for 7 years. The two are not comparable whatsoever for the greatest Maverick of all time.

I agree. It’s not close whatsoever. It’s bizarre for someone to even bring it up as a point of discussion much less to outright state that Luka is the greatest Mav of all time.

If TO had been here 15 years yes I would say he was better than Irvin.

But I never made the argument. Dirk is the best Mav of all time. I said it in the first sentence. If Luka had played here for 20 years yes I do feel he makes that conversation interesting assuming he would’ve got a ring.

I think you might be confused with my statement. There’s no argument or debate lol.

Purely an opinion on my part. We all have our favorites.

Let’s also mention though Luka at 26 is a 5 Time ALL NBA. Dirk his whole career is 4.

Luka is also still writing his story.

They for sure are comparable.
