I hope the Thunder put a whooping on SA

It will be a great series.

SA is a beast with Wemby.

With him, they have the potential to be an all time great dynasty.

Without him, the rest of the team is average to slightly above average. They definitely don’t instill any fear without Wemby. They’ve lost 3 games during these playoffs, and most of those losses were when Wemby was hurt or ejected.

My only concern going forward as a Spurs fan would be Wemby’s health over the next 10+ years. I could see him being in and out all the time with injuries due to his unnatural body dimensions. Players of his size very frequently have injury problems, historically.

But if Wemby could stay healthy, and if they could add another true superstar to that team… They would be completely unstoppable.

All of the above is why I didn’t mind getting rid of him. And what confirmed it was him getting into shape this year now that he leaves. Mind you refuses to do it in Dallas. Still gets hurt.

I’m mad we didn’t fleece the Lakers.

Only hope is by 2029 hopefully Lakers stink and that draft pick is top 5. At least Lebron won’t be there by then.

Looks as if some folks in the Mavs front office were totally against giving Luca that supermax contract.

From what I’ve seen I’ve seen more consistency from Thunder role players and J Will their second best player hasn’t played. It’s gonna be a great series. Initially I thought Thunder would sweep or the gentleman’s sweep even after the regular season matchups. I’m confused to how they couldn’t really handle guys like Jaxon Hayes or st times Ayton. So to see Wemby coming it’s hard not to see the nightmare matchup.

To be competitive they will need to hit this upcoming draft out of the ballpark and Lively and Kyrie (unless traded) will need to stay healthy. That's just for starters

Edit: Lively health is a major issue. Think he only played a total of around 25-30 games for his career so far

They have 1std because you can’t go two years without a pick. They are just pick swaps and they are inferior to those teams they pick swap with so it’s looking like late 1st rounders.

I don't think the Mavs FO was comfortable giving Luka a max contract.

Before Luka was traded to the Lakers on Feb 2nd 2025 he had been nursing a calf strain.

He was sidelined on Xmas day 2024. He didn't suit up for over a month.

Once he was traded and passed his physical with the Lakers, he was placed in the starting lineup on Feb 10th 2025. Eight days after he had been traded. IMO, this time-line is telling.

I don't know if the rumors are true about why he was traded, but where there's smoke...im sure you can figure out the rest.

They didn’t tank they were just bad. Their best players were what? Vassell? Keldon Johnson? That’s not tanking that’s just bad.

They were bad due to trading away most (if not all) of their vets for younger players. In a sense it was a rebuild + tank. You can still ethically tank , but it's still a tank none the less. The Mavs could have done the same this year, but they're weren't as bright due to no FO leadership at that time.

Trading away the vets was more than likely the difference between winning 22 games to 26-30 + games. Those 4 + games in getting the #1 pick was huge

No, the Mavs traded AD for vets that are in a contract year this coming season. Khris Middleton and Marvin Bagley who won 5-6 games on their own. Middleton had some huge games along with Marvin Bagley. Do you even watch the Mavs games?

I saw Bagley play well.
AJ Johnson was up and down.
First round pick is the 30 th pick.

AJ Johnson is 20, Bagley 27…what did I say was wrong to warrant you to ask if I watch games? Yes Middleton played but he’s not “young”. He was a contract situation.
