Lebron has the name “Leflop” for a reason. Luka is one of the biggest whiner crybabies in the game. Literally any other team in the league could be complaining and I’d listen but not the Lakers….puuuuuulease….
 
Lol I called it. Mavs were idiots for winning those last 2 games. Mavs pretty much screwed Flaggs future for a couple mean less wins
No first round draft picks though 2031 LOL

Deep draft they wil get a good player. There’s about 10 game changing guys in this draft.

Only needed to lose 1 game and the Mavs would have been in the top 4. The Mavs needed this bigtime with going through 2031 with no first round picks.
They pretty much trashed Flaggs future

The big problem was that Kidd was playing all his starters when he could and the team was always playing to win. I'm not talking about playing to win when it mattered, they were playing to win also when it didn't matter.

It would have paid off for Kidd to play all back-ups, sign some 10-20 day contract players because with no picks until after 2031 and the league putting in new rules for tanking it would have made sense to lose those games for this year only.

I get what you’re saying. I’m just saying it’s premature to say his future is trashed lol. Future is bright. They will get a top 10 talent this year. Have options. Sucks we didn’t get into the top 5 but we shouldn’t have even gotten in the top 5 last year so guess our luck ran out.

They actually had a far better chance of getting a top 4 pick this year. All they had to do was lose 1 game between, the Bulls, Grizz and or Lakers. Also, they beat multiple teams they had no business winning against.

Kidd made sure to play all the starters every night(healthy ones) and had them playing hard. Winning is nice, but none of it will matter moving forward with the new tanking rules and no first round picks until after 2031.

Yes, the draft is deep, but the top 1-4 are pretty much going to be it, the rest are up in the air. Is it possible to land another Dirk at the 9th spot? Possible, but those are rare and much more common in the top 1-4, even in a deep draft

They don’t need a Dirk though. They need a solid player. They have the star. Got the hard part out the way. I’d take a Makel Brown and be happy.

Is this like a continuation of the doom and gloom stuff from the Luka trade? What’s going on here?

No first round picks until after 2031 means less building around Flagg. It's pretty simple to see how that will impact it all. Do you know why the Mavs don't have those picks?
They don't have them due to building around Luka who isn't with the Mavs any longer.

Yes, the Mavs got lucky last year getting Flagg, but they will be no where close to competing in the West w/o some more luck ( IE a top 1-4 pick this year).
Keep this in mind when talking about the Mavs luck getting Flagg. They also got shafted by Nico who decided to trade away a generational talent for peanuts


Not saying they need Dirk. It was an analogy that they could find a player the caliber or close to Dirk in the 9th. Yes, they could use someone of that range to help Flagg because they will not have anyone from the 1st round for the next 5-6 years, Mavs need huge help

Mavs also have no good assets for the next 5-6 years for trades as well. That's how the Mavs with Luka were able to build a contender around him. (First round assets)
