2025-26 NBA Season

Well even then to say they can’t get into a play in…..I just don’t share the same view. It’s a long uphill battle but Im happy where they are headed now.
I like what they did with hiring Uijiri, but to discount what the previous FO did to the team is choosing to ignore it. It's not just going to fix itself anytime soon

You don't trade your best player for scraps then trade that player away for nothing. Nico legacy with the Mavs will always be a horrible one no matter what happens in the future.
I mean for the Luka fans they will always hold a grudge. For me I knew the Mavs hit their ceiling and I saw how the league is getting younger with more defensive minded players. Never been a fan of watching Luka dribble and have the guys watch him. And the lack of defense….it was limited on what they’d be.

Flagg represents the new star. The Ant’s, Cade’s, Wemby’s, Tatum, SGA’s….

I feel Nico was smart enough to realize that which is why he tried to trade for Ant and Wemby. Just arrogant and stupid enough to settle for AD.

I never said anything about being hurt by the Luka trade. You're putting words in my mouth.

I didn't agree with how it was handled and I'm sure someone like Uijiri would have handled it way better.
I’m just basing my opinion on your posts over the last two days. It’s been riddled with doom and gloom and how we are bottom dwellers until 2031 based on trading Luka. Just what I observed.

You're assuming I'm some kind of hardcore Luka fan. That I'm one of the people that took a sign to the game and shouted, " Fire Nico." I wasn't one of those people lol
From what I understand most of the hardcore Luka fans jumped ship to the Lakers. (Now I think the Laker fans might have turned on him)

The previous front office did nothing outside of one year. Let’s put it in perspective. They didn’t turn down a championship team they traded their best player and the following season replaced
Him with someone with as high of a ceiling.

This isn’t like getting rid of MJ and Pippen and their 6 rings.

You're in denial to what the previous FO did and how it impacts the current team. Like I mentioned, you're entitled to your opinion.

Oh no they are still in Dallas. They may be Lakers fans too but there are those who are rooting for all things bad to happen to Dallas. I see them all the time. I assumed you were one because they have the same talking points. It’s harder now for them because they had a rooting interest in Nico but he’s fired so now what lol? The Luka thing is gonna be like this for probably ever and if he gets a ring…

I hated it mostly for the players. They didn’t deserve not being supported.

Fans had every right to be upset with how the trade was handled, but I do agree that some fans took it to far. I think it was Flaggs mother that mentioned something about it's now Flaggs team and no longer Luka's. That Luka was gone and now a Laker.

I’m not. We just have different ideas of where this team was at two years ago: I not see a championship team. So when you talk about how great this team was built around Luka like it can’t be replicated? I don’t see it. I think Luka and Kyrie on the court together caused some issues defensively.

We will just have to see over the next 4-5 years on how that will work out. I do see the new FO making the transition easier, but there will still be that sting lingering from the previous FO.

I’m all for fans being fans. Being upset I understood. I think I didn’t understand how personally invested people would be as far as wishing death on Nico or threatening players.

Felt like Flagg could’ve got more support but people felt rooting for him was like rooting for Nico or rooting against Luka. Very crappy time to be a Mavs fan.

There’s no sting. I’m not trying to belittle Luka’s impact but going from Luka to Flagg isn’t this huge franchise altering move. Luka is a vet and top 5. Id argue Flagg at 15-20 which is where Luka was at 3 or 4 years ago.

Sting = getting nothing back from the Luka trade in terms of good assets. Look what OKC got back from the Paul George trade. Luka could have gotten back triple those assets. (OKC built a championship team around that trade. )

Mavs got an AD that barley played and Christie who is so , so at this point. The FO didn't even try for Reeves and or more of the Lakers picks and or picks/players from other teams. It was just a bad bad trade.

Edit: Mavs would have still gotten Flagg + better overall assets for the future

There’s a trade off though…if they get more from the Luka trade do they still get Flagg? I guess that’s my viewpoint…they were never suppose to get Flagg. And a big part why they were even bad enough was because Kyrie and AD got hurt. They were a play in team even with the play in.

So if it came down to 3 1st round picks for Flaggg? I’d take Flagg.

If Luka could’ve got triple those assets why didn’t they get it then? They are on record for calling teams other than the Lakers….we know they called Wolves and Spurs. None budged. They did wsnt s sure in return and settle for AD. Timing of the deal killed them too. I’m not arguing it was a stupid trade. This is a different point than what was initially being argued now we are back to the deal being bad lol. We know it was.

Chicago would have not hit the half court shot in the last game of the season and won the tie-breaker coin toss the Mavs wouldn't have gotten Flagg. There were plenty of variables involved when it came to having the rights to draft Flagg, but you don't trade your best player (Generational) for pretty much nothing when looking at the draft. Keep in mind that the Mavs made the play-in that year and the chances of getting the #1 pick was very very slim. No matter of the outcome the Mavs should've done more with the Luka trade.

If the Mavs didn't get the #1 pick it would be WAY WAY worse when factoring in the Luka trade. If anything the Mavs could've traded for all picks and still gotten the #1 pick last year. Which means they get Flagg , plus all those Luka picks. It's a major win for the Mavs at that point

Some teams didn't have the assets like what we saw with the Paul George trade. Nico didn't broadcast the trade to the league, he only contacted 2-3 teams. Nico also had close ties to the Lakers

But you see why I believed you were a Luka Stan? You keep talking about the Luka trade. As if you need to convince me it was bad. It was bad. Terrible. Even if Luka retired tommorow it was bad deal. Hopefully we can establish the move was bad lol. Getting Flagg was luck. Not skill.

Mavs were not trading a bunch of picks for Flagg. If you believe that you must not remember how hyped up Flagg was. He was 18 years old and was destroying NBa players at 17.

Ok. I can’t argue against what they did in regards to that. I don’t believe Lukas value was as big as people think. No one wants to be the next Clippers. Just my theory. But I guess we will see what Giannis gets traded for. Probably a closer indication of what Luka’s value might be.

26 year old top 3 Luka >>>>> 31 year old Giannis

They aren’t comparable.
