2025-26 NBA Season

Personally I like the Sharpe and Clingan package. You think Brown for Deni wouldn’t feature picks from Blazers? Am I overrating Brown!
Brown is better but Deni is 4 years younger and may be the best contract in the NBA. So I think that would be a straight swap with us making Jrue's salary. I dont even think Portland would do that

We’ve talked about this numerous times. We understand they failed. The world moves on. You can’t stop making moves because the previous front office fumbled Luka. Go get some shooters. Luka is gone.
This was a write-up from someone on Reddit. The main point I was showing from that in regards to your post is that the current FO will be limited on what they can do. Even you admited that the Mavs shouldn't try to trade away those like Kyrie, PJ ect until after they can increase their value. Also, the Mavs draft capital is meh.

With that in mind how do you propose the FO bring in players that other teams can offer better overall capital for.

Isiah Joe and Wiggins got traded for second rounders. Mavs have second rounders. I’m not buying that excuse. I’ll buy the first rounders excuse but they should not be using first rounders for these guys.

I suspect how I’d build a team vs how they want to build is completely different. Morez sort of shows how they want to build a team. I think they want defenders with upside to become shooters. That’s not Joe or Wiggins which is why they didn’t get playing time. I would’ve did it.

For 2nd rounders this is what they have for future picks. Mavs don't own their own 2nd rounder until 2033. Here's the rest of the incoming picks. That's pretty much what they have to work with when it comes to using 2nd rounders

Edit: They either own theirs or OKC (For 2028) (1st rounder) (No 2nd rounder)

2027 second round draft pick from Chicago

2030 first round draft pick from Golden State
Golden State's 2030 1st round pick to Dallas protected for selections 1-20; if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Golden State will instead convey its 2030 2nd round pick to Dallas (via Washington) [Golden State-Washington, 7/6/2023; Dallas-Washington, 2/5/2026]

What am I missing? They can’t trade these picks?

Depends on what they want to do. They are probably better off using Gafford/PJ/Kyrie later to bring in some shooters. The team is has already been gutted of picks.
Yeah I don’t care about 2nd rounders. I have pieces I can get picks with later. Like I said earlier I don’t think these guys fit the build of what they want. And if that’s the case I respect it.
