There was always money being made. Nobody does anything for free or to lose money. It just wasn’t as visible so it didn’t seem that way.

Wow did Balogun get screwed. They were mugging him all night literally. How many clear jersey grabs to slow him down? How many 2 arm tackles in the box? Then the guy accidentally steps backward to catch himself and lands on a defenders ankle. Red card?? FIFA needs to review this and rescind. Horrible call given the physicality that was allowed to play out all throughout this match.

If no one can get behind the USA Men's team, they truly are hating. The USA Men's team is very good this year. They can play with anyone this year.

This is by far the best the US team has ever looked in World Cup

I got to agree. We got commercial breaks and 16 extra teams. This is about the bucks.

I completely agree, it's not even in doubt. To win it all though, they would have to get past 2 or 3 better teams.

To win it all would almost match the US Hockey Team of 1980 in beating the odds

The Brazil team isnt as strong as past teams - dont see them winning. France and Spain looking good right now.

The jury is still out on that. The 2002 team made it to the quarterfinals after beating Mexico in the round of 16. They lost to Germany 0-1 in a close match. That Germany team went to the finals. If this team we have now is better, it's not by far.

were there lots of upsets in that World Cup that allowed the US Squad to get that far?

It's coming.

The USA is scheduled to play Belgium next on Monday. Belgium has not looked good and has struggled this year. The USA Men's Team is better and should be able to beat Belgium, even without Balogun, and advance past the Sweet 16.

Afterwards, the USA Men's play the winner between Portugal and Spain. Both Portugal and Spain have shown some flaws. With Balogun back, hungry and pissed, the USA will greatly be improved and capable of beating either Portugal or Spain, especially if Pochettino decides to go with a dual strikers scheme up in front like he did in Game 1 vs Paraguay. Say someone like Gio Reyna or Pepi lined up next to Balogun, they would be deadly and highly capable of beating either Portugal or Spain during the Round of 8 and advance to the Final 4.
