We have a legitimate chance of accomplishing something this team hasn't done in 21 years

21 years!

5 of those years with the legendary Troy Aikman
10 solid years with the great Tony Romo
The other 6, we prefer not to talk about...

Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and the boys have a chance to do something that hasn't been done in 21 years!

It's been 21 years since we made it to a NFC Championship game, much less a Super Bowl. One win equals the accomplishments of 21 years.

Zeke was a newborn.

Most of our OL weren't even in preschool. Jason Witten was in puberty. I was 9...where were you?

We may think that this team has a bright future but we thought the same in 2007. The NFL is tough! Injuries and free agency can keep a team from being consistent competitors. The time is now! No excuses. Our rookies have been playing like veterans all season, no excuse to be rookies now. Our defense has been improving every week, no reason to break the trend now. The time is now! No more whining and thinking we are a few defensive peices away.

Lets get the mindset right now! Our fan base needs to be positive and expect the very best every play! If you are at the game, scream your heart out! It may be years before we get this chance again!

Then I say ride #21 all the way to glory!

it really shouldnt even have to be typed cause of course the SB is always the #1 goal....but for me personally the NFC Championship is where we need to get to for me to really start freakin out and consider this an awesome season......

Let's stop with the doom and gloom and get behind our Cowboys. We should be having the time of our lives because Dallas has as good a chance as anyone to win it all. Cowboys Nation Unite. Cowboys Finish This Fight.

That's what I like to hear!

I am beyond sick of the negativity and if you have something negative to say, respectively pick one of the over 4,600 threads to post in on this site! If any of this negativity happens to spill over to any of the fans at the game who feel we are still a few pieces away from competing then that is not being fair to our team.

We may never see this again in some of our lifetimes! We like to think this is the beginning of a dynasty but we really don't know. We were the BEST team in our conference all season. This is our year!

This season is merely scratching the surface of what it will be like for Cowboy fans over the next ten years.

Every year these guys learn more, get better, get more familiar with each other, and become a more fine tuned part of what could be an historic run.

Next week? We saw what the Cowboys did to the Lions when they were just messing around and the Lions needed the victory.

The Cowboys will send a message next Sunday.

I love your post besides this. I am certain many fans on here were saying the same thing in 2007 with a young Romo/Witten/Ware. Fact is that everything doesn't always go as planned.

This could very well be the our 1 in 20 years chance to make the SB. We need to play like that.

This streak is largely the product of an inability to make the playoffs on a consistent basis. As good as Aaron Rodgers has been and asoften as his teams have made the playoffs, he's only been passed the divisional round twice.

It's hard.

Opportunities like the one we have here don't come around very often. We need to seize this opportunity. An untimely injury to a critical player could alter the course of things pretty quickly.

So Dak and Zeke need to start this dynasty in YEAR ONE and then ride it as long as possible.

It is hard. I still envy Aaron Rodgers and the Packers for having a chance EVERY YEAR. I envy the Patriots, Steelers...even the Seahawks and Giants.

We were blessed with 10 great years of Romo but without doing the research, I would guess only half of those years resulted in playoffs, only 3 years we achieved as much as this year.

In 2007, I thought Romo was the chosen one l, destined to bring out team to the championship multiple times. Never would I have guessed that he would've only brought us as deep as the divisional round two other times. That is not his fault,
this is nothing against him, this is just proof that it's hard to get this far.

Nothing is guaranteed! If we don't make it this year, don't hang your hats on the future. As Catch said, we have the horses this year, now it's time to ride them to Houston.

Zeke better get at least 25 carries and 5 passes thrown to him every playoff game......at least that amount. I am ok if we exceed both numbers.

The more involved he is, the better for our offense.

Yup.

Saints have also only been to the championship twice with Brees who's probably near the end, and they only won once.
